Case Description:
Liu Dongfen, a 52 year old female was originally from Tianjin City and lived in Hetou Village, Ren County in Hebei Province. Since April 25, 1999, when the Jiang's regime started persecuting Falun Gong, Liu had been repeatedly held in the regime's brainwashing facilities. However, she steadfastly resisted the persecution of Falun Gong. On February 27, 2002, she was talking to people about the truth of Falun Gong while in Zhanglu Village, Nanhe County when the police grabbed her and took her to the Nanhe County Detention Center. She was later transferred to the Ren County Detention Center. During her detention she went on hunger strikes several times to protest her severe treatment. She was tortured to death at the detention center around 9 a.m. on July 17, 2002.
