Case Description:

In July 2000, police detained Mr. Liu Qunming, his daughter Liu Hui, Ms. Xu Zengzhen, and other Dafa practitioners in a meeting room, with the excuse of organizing a brainwashing session, and they were not released for more than 20 days.

In August 2000, Sanjiu Beer, Ltd. in Shijiazhuang City canceled Mr. Liu Qunming's work contract because he practiced Falun Dafa.

In December 2000, Mr. Liu hung signs on the front of his bike saying "Falun Dafa is good," "Zhen-Shan-Ren" (Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance), and the like. When he rode his bike in Shijiazhuang City, he was arrested and taken to the Zhongshan Road West Police Station. He was later taken to the Jianda Police Station and sentenced to three years in a labor camp.

On the morning of March 9, 2003, about thirty police officers from the Chang'an District Police Department and Changfeng Police Station arrested Mr. Liu and his daughter Ms. Liu Hui from their home. The police broke the gate, ransacked their home, and took all the valuables including a TV, VCR, VCD player, two bank certificates of over 20,000 yuan, and 1000 yuan in cash.

In 2008, the police arrested a large number of Falun Dafa practitioners around the time of the Olympics. At 5:50 a.m. on July 4, 2008, six policemen, one in uniform and five in plainclothes, lied to Ms. Liu Hui's parents-in-law, telling them that they were express mail delivery workers. Ms. Liu was not home at the time, so they ransacked her home. At 11:00 a.m. on July 7, 2008, officers broke into Mr. Liu Qunming's home, arrested him, and ransacked his home.

Police planned to detain Mr. Liu for 15 days and then send him to a forced labor camp on July 19, 2008. Due to Mr. Liu being on a hunger strike after his arrest, he appeared very sick. The labor camp refused to accept him and he was released. His daughter had to leave home to avoid being arrested.

Mr. Liu never recovered from the abuse that he suffered during detention, and he died on the morning of October 27, 2009.
