Case Description:

Mr. Sui Guangxi and his wife were both Falun Gong practitioners from Xiangyangling Village, Niuxibu Township, Laixi City, Shandong Province. At midnight on September 17, 2002, villager Ding Xiangyu, with 11 police and staff members from the local police station and village government, climbed over the wall of Sui Guangxi's home, and forcibly dragged him and his wife to the police van. They were held at an elementary school for four days and then transferred to the "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems) in Laixi City, where they were forced listen to broadcasts slandering Dafa. Sui Guangxi refused to listen and was then subjected to various tortures. The police beat him on the head, did not give him anything to eat or drink, nor did they allow him to use the rest room. About 20 days later, Sui Guangxi found a chance to escape.

Due to the torture, Sui Guang had become very weak and he could not take care of himself after he escaped. His family then sent him to the hospital to get his health problems treated. He died in the hospital on July 4, 2003.
