To the Party and government leaders at various levels:
My name is Wang Yunxia. I am a 44-year old female Falun Gong practitioner, and an employee of Yantai City Printing Factory, living at 15 Huiying Street, Zhifu District, Yantai City, Shandong Province. I want to bring a serious situation to your attention. The Xiangyang Administrative Branch in Zhifu District have fabricated stories to slander and smear Falun Dafa as well as my personal reputation. I hope that you can reveal the truth and uphold justice, so that the negative impact of slandering and smearing, on the society, will be eliminated and this issue can be resolved impartially.
On July 9, 1999, Xiangyang Administrative Branch, in the name of "Xiangyang Committee of the Party and Labors", issued a document. It was called "Notice Regarding the Cases in Which Some People in Xiangyang Became Victims of Falun Gong". We refer to it as "the notice". The third section of this notice, titled "She Almost Lost Her Family due to Practicing Falun Gong" is simply THEIR-made-up stories and lies about my situation. It confounded black and white, right and wrong; the lies they are telling are so absurd that everyone who knows me was shocked. This notice was distributed to all the neighborhoods and all the departments and offices. It misled the people who were unaware of the truth, made people hate and despise Falun Gong and myself, damaged the reputation of Falun Dafa and myself, and brought great sufferings to my family.
A. This fabricated notice, full of bitterness, stated that "I was really duped by Falun Gong. " And that she (Wang Yunxia) was busy everyday with meditation and reading, with no time left for her family... indifferent to her husband's daily life..., showing no interest in taking care of her small grocery store, etc."
However, this is contrary to the fact that Falun Gong saved my life, purified my soul, and gave me a happy family. There are not enough words that I can use to fully express my gratitude toward Falun Gong and its founder.
Before I started cultivation, I had gone through all kinds of hardships and misfortunes. A misfortune I encountered made my life a disaster, which has put my life in a state where I did not know whether to live or die. The strong mentality of revenge kept me alive. Let me explain the situation.
On December 28, 1990, when I was working, a male employee in my factory slammed my head against a chest, for no reasons, which led to a severe head injury. I was brought to a hospital and diagnosed as having a cerebral concussion, a syndrome resulting from the head injury. During the treatment, I almost died because I developed an allergic reaction to the drugs used.
This was just the beginning of my suffering. The leaders in my company twice issued an order to stop the treatment of my illness and the payment for the medical bills, without giving a particular reason. This had worsened my condition. I suffered miserably and collapsed. My family's appeal and the lawsuit that was filed enraged the company leaders and led to their retaliation. This lawsuit cost all my savings and the unfair court decision drove me to despair. The suffering caused by the head injury made me feel my life was worthless. I wrote a note and prepared to commit suicide. I gave up the thought of suicide, however, as I was walking toward a cliff. My mentality of revenge arose like fire. I wanted to kill those heartless company leaders and I wanted to make the killing one that would shock the entire city.
This terrifying thought of revenge kept me alive. When I was carefully plotting and about to carry out this plan, an unforgettable event occurred that has changed my life.
In January of 1997, I came across Zhuan Falun. I finished the whole book without a break and I was moved to tears. The principles of the universe "Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance" melted the hard ice covering my soul. I found the eternal truth and the way home. I understood the cause of my suffering and I knew that the purpose of life was to cultivate according to the Great Law and become a person with a high moral standard. Thereafter, I have always conducted myself according to the principles of "Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance". I am always nice to people and show no thoughts of personal grievances. I gave up my thoughts of revenge. I also convinced my family to give up their thoughts of revenge. I do my best to be more thoughtful, kind, and tolerant.
If my plan of revenge had been carried out, how many families would be ruined and how much damage would be done to the society! How grateful those people must be to Falun Dafa who would otherwise have been hurt by my plotted disaster!
During these several years of my cultivation, I completely recovered from my illnesses and became a healthy person. For the first time I experienced what it is like to be without illness. I could barely take care of myself in the past and now I have become the person who supports the whole family. I have a small grocery store, which is open from 6:00AM to 9:00PM. I sell the goods and replenish the inventory all by myself. As I conformed myself to the requirement for a Falun Dafa practitioner, my store became well known in the neighborhood. Many people came to visit my store because of its reputation. When I was occasionally paid with fake money, I always destroyed it and never wanted to use it to cheat customers.
Before I started cultivation, I could be easily irritated and was not tolerant because of the pain in my body and mind. After my husband's retirement from the army, he often went outside to drink whenever he was not in a good mood. After he had been drinking, he would return home to make trouble for the family. I often fought with him by throwing tables and even fought him with a knife. In 1995, we went to court to file for a divorce, but we did not proceed with the petition for the sake of our children. After I started cultivation, I used Dafa to guide my life and always looked inward whenever I had conflicts. When my husband was angry, I always endured silently. Finally my husband was moved and said, "This Dafa is really good and it makes you a good-tempered person." We have passed the bitter past and we now have a happy and harmonious family. The miraculous manifestation of Dafa on me is well known. My parents, sisters, husband, children, and all my friends and relatives feel very happy for me. As a person with chronic illness in the past I now enjoy good health. My temper has also changed from irritable to peaceful and my attitude toward life from being desperate to being open-minded. My family was beset with crisis in the past and it is now full of joy and smiles. Aren't these signs of the power of Falun Dafa?
B. The "notice" fabricated that, "On July 28, Wang Yunxia awakened from her dream and realized her mistake. After the patient persuasion of the leaders at various levels, Wang Yunxia felt regret and cried. She decided to break with Falun Gong, forever."
In fact, Falun Gong saved my life and my family. It has changed me from a selfish, narrow-minded, resentful, and avenging person to a thoughtful, kind, tolerant, and optimistic practitioner. I will never be able to repay what I have received from Falun Dafa and Master Li. If a person gets a bit of favor, he should repay it bountifully. Using sheer fabrications and slander, the "notice" portrayed me as a mean person who cursed and betrayed the Master, and confused good and bad. Many people who did not know the truth were misled. I really do not know who gave them the right to do such a thing and why they were so vicious.
C. After the notice came out, I went to Xiangyang Administrative Branch three times and I asked them to tell the truth, restore my reputation, eliminate the bad effect, and make a retraction. When I visited them the fourth time, the Party leader Qin admitted that their notice was inflated and contrary to the facts. However, he refused to comply with my appeal requests. He replied to me: (1) there was no damage, to me in this case; (2) there was no need to clarify my reputation in public; and I could go to Xiangyang Court to file a lawsuit if I was not satisfied.
I went to my neighborhood committee and my company, and asked them for verification:
1. Did I ever get a chance to talk to you about what the notice mentioned?
2. Had the neighborhood committee or the company ever shown me the content of the "notice" and asked for my approval?
Both answered "No".
Based on the above-mentioned facts, I am asking you, the government leaders at various levels, to investigate the appeal, find out the persons responsible for these lies, and reveal the truth. I demand that:
1. You tell the public the truth about Falun Dafa and myself to eliminate the bad consequences.
2. Let the person or the administrative unit responsible for the notice apologize publicly.
