On an open square in Chinatown the afternoon of November 12, Chicago practitioners successfully put together a photo exhibit that portrayed the truth about Falun Gong. Among the dozens of photos displayed, some depicted scenes of Falun Gong being spread in many countries throughout the world, while others showed Falun Gong practitioners being tortured in China. These pictures communicated to the world with silent language the universal characteristics of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance" expounded by Falun Dafa. They also exposed the depth and brutality of the evil deeds committed by Jiang Zemin and his supporters. Although it was very cold that day, the photo exhibit still attracted many local residents and tourists. Practitioners learned that people are not as indifferent now to the persecution of Falun Gong in China as they have been in the past. Most people expressed sympathy and support for Falun Gong, and there were even some who wanted to learn the exercises on the spot. Within four hours, approximately five hundred Chinese and English newspapers were distributed.
City of Galesburg, Illinois Proclaims November 12 as "Falun Dafa Day"
On the same day, after learning the truth about Falun Gong (see above image), the small tourist city of Galesburg, Illinois proclaimed November 12 as "Falun Dafa Day." Several practitioners made the six-hour round trip in order to distribute Dafa materials and teach a two-hour long introductory workshop at the local library.
