Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is an advanced cultivation system for mind, body, and spirit. It was publicly introduced in May 1992 by its founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi. Falun Dafa is based on the characteristic of the universe -- "Truthfulness (Zhen), Benevolence (Shan), Tolerance (Ren)" -- and aims at guiding people to improve their xinxing (heart/mind nature), develop their compassion for others, and raise their moral standards. In the past 8 years, Falun Dafa has been promulgated throughout China and spread all over the world. It has been awakening the good nature of numerous lives and purifying the bodies and minds of over a hundred million people.
As the upright way is promulgated, evil forces are bound to come to block it. Inside the Chinese government, there are some people who dared to re-enact the notorious performance of the Great Cultural Revolution. Since July 22, 1999, false rumors about Falun Gong have filled the TV, radios, and newspapers in Mainland China, and the truth about Falun Gong has been distorted and covered up willfully. As the state propaganda slanders and attacks Falun Gong, hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners, who are faithful to and dare to speak out about the truth of Falun Dafa, have been persecuted. They suffer from torture, repeated detention, forced labor, and being thrown into a drug treatment center, or a psychiatric hospital. Some were put under long-term detention or even convicted without due legal process. Numerous practitioners have been sent to so-called re-education classes, losing their rights to normal work and study. Many practitioners have been fined heavily and lost their livelihood, and some others have been driven to the edge of having their family torn apart by the authorities. Several have even been punished to death. So far, there have been 22 Falun Gong practitioners whose precious lives were taken due to the frenzied torture by the Chinese government, while these practitioners had been well-recognized good citizens when they were alive. In the meantime, because of the slander from the state-controlled propaganda, many people in ordinary society misunderstand Falun Gong. Because of the cover-up, there are many people who unknowingly drift with the current and help the evil to carry out the persecution of Falun Gong. Over the past year, justice and truth have been distorted, honesty and benevolence curtailed, and evil and violence promoted. An outburst of personal political ambition of some central government leaders has brewed a disaster for the entire nation. The determination of Falun Dafa practitioners has been severely tested in the human world. The positive environment for people to explore the meaning of life and pursue spiritual refinement has been badly damaged.
In the face of various tribulations, tens of millions of Falun Dafa practitioners have shown their great compassion and tolerance. Dear fellow citizens, have you known? They forbear inhumane torture with smiles, persevering in cultivating Falun Dafa; they calmly face brutal beatings with no regret and hatred; their seemingly superhuman power of will, their sincerity, and their purity of willingness to sacrifice for the truth have shocked and inspired numerous hearts of kind people!
Dear fellow citizens, the submission to evil is an end to kindness. For all kind-hearted people, for yourself, for your relatives, your children, please dont be fooled anymore, please do not sit and watch passively anymore, and furthermore, do not allow the evil to persecute good people anymore!
The World Falun Dafa Radio broadcast is founded voluntarily by overseas Falun Dafa practitioners. Its goal is to spread positive information on Falun Gong to people in Mainland China, help clarify any confusion they may have, and reveal the truth of the issues related to Falun Gong, so that listeners can have complete, factual knowledge and an understanding of Falun Dafa.
