On July 20 a year ago, the Chinese government banned Falun Gong and suppressed the practitioners of Falun Gong. There are tens of millions of people worldwide who practice Falun Gong.

However, in spite of the fact that tens of thousands practitioners have been arrested, some illegally detained, some suffered from severe tortures, and there have already been 24 death cases reported, with the supports from International Human Rights Organization and from some political leaders of a good conscience, the peaceful petitions by Falun Gong practitioners have never ceased in China.

To commemorate the anniversary of the "7.20" peaceful petition event, the practitioners in the United States will hold a press conference and a first show commencement of the documentary "Falun Gong: The Real Story (2)". The speakers for Falun Gong, Mark Palmer, Vice President of "Freedom House", and Rabbi David Saperstein, chairman, U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom will attend this conference.

In the same day, several hundred Falun Gong practitioners will deliver petition letters to the Chinese Embassy asking for an end to this cruel suppression on Falun Gong through a peaceful dialogue. In the meantime, a candlelight vigil will be held to deplore the practitioners in China who were tortured to death because of their unwillingness to give up their spiritual believes.
