[Mainland China] Cruel behavior in a Changchun labor camp
Sometime before July 12th, 2000, about 60 practitioners were detained in the Chaoyangguo and Weizigou labor camps of Changchun for going to Beijing to appeal. The inmates and head prisoners took out their anger on these practitioners. They often beat them up and did not let them eat or sleep. At the instigation of some prison guards, the prisoners became more and more cruel toward the practitioners, especially from the period from the end of June to early of July. Wang Taiming was tortured and beaten unconscious several times. Only until he was almost dead, did the guards stop the criminals.
All these practitioners were then transferred to the Fenjing labor camp on July 12th, 2000, to receive the so-called "advanced brainwashing". On September 5th, 7th, and 9th, three practitioners were beaten until physically disabled.
Zheng Hongxing was beaten, and received a 30-centimeter wound. The wound became severely infected, but the guard did not permit him to see a doctor. Only after three days of constant requests by other practitioners, did the guard permit him to receive medicine.
As for the other two seriously injured practitioners, one was sent to the Changchun City Hospital for emergency treatment and needed a kidney transplant. Another was paralyzed as a result of the severe beatings he received in the labor camp.
In addition, the sound of the practitioners being beaten up by the inmates was frequently heard. The guard threatened the practitioners to say nothing to any relatives, or they would receive more severe punishment.
[Mainland China] Dozens of female practitioners were sent to the labor camp, but no one knew their whereabouts. Later, a practitioner happened to find out that they were detained on the Qingdong Farm, which is run by the "Shanghai Female Labor Camp Administration Department" which is not far from Qingpu Jail.
Recently, several senior practitioners were detained and sentenced to imprisonment for distributing flyers, which were caught by electronic surveillance. They have gone on a hunger strike for several days to validate the reputation of Falun Dafa.
[Mainland China] Some practitioners in Chengdu city were tricked and sent to a labor camp
Practitioner Xie Chengxing, worked in the No.2 Kindergarten of Chengdu city, and received a phone call from the police station on September 8th, asking her to go to the police station for some matter. After Xie Chengxing got there, she was sentenced to one-year labor and sent directly to work at the "Ningxia Street" transportation station. Her husband (also a practitioner) wanted to find out why she was put intothe labor camp, but the police would not give him any information.
All three members of the Xie Chengxing family cultivate Falun Dafa. From last December to this May, the couple was detained in a so-called "Study class". This August the couple and their child, who was on summer vacation from school, went to appeal in Beijing. After being escorted back, they were detained for 15 days. They had just been at home almost one month before they were detained again.
[Mainland China] Evidence of Inhumane Persecution toward Falun Gong Practitioners at the Xinjian County Detention Center in Jiangxi Province
1. When officer Fengying Wang saw Falun Dafa Practitioners practicing Falun Gong Exercises at the female detention center in Xinjian County, she used keys and boots to hit their faces. Anyone still continuing to practice Falun Gong Exercises, would receive cold water poured on her, be put under guard, and be shackled with weights of more than 50 Kilograms so that she could not even move a foot. If someone held a hunger strike, the jail guards, Tianxun Cheng and Mr. Xiong would ask prisoners to force-feed that practitioner hot pepper and water with a high concentration of salt . For practitioners refusing to cooperate with this treatment, they would use a bamboo tube to open up their mouth. Their teeth all became very loose and their mouths also bled a lot. Falun Dafa Practitioners horrendous screams continued could be heard. Officers in the detention center were afraid that others would hear their screams, so they turned on all the radios and threatened to force feed the practitioners daily if they continued their hunger strike
2. The Vicious Persecution on Falun Dafa Practitioners by two police officers, Deng and Luo, at the police station in Xinjian County: Some Falun Dafa Practitioners were arrested for going to Bejing to appeal, some were arrested from their homes in the middle of the home, and some were tricked into to going to the police station. The police officers plan was to extort money and personal property from the practitioners. The amount of money that Falun Dafa practitioners were extorted ranged from 3000 to 6000 Yuan. Some even had up to 10,000 Yuan extorted from them. Anyone who could not pay the money was detained for a long time. Some people were detained for more than 4 months. Some practitioners did not have any money at all, so the officers confiscated their televisions and rice stored in the barn.
Another practitioner in Xinjian County also could not pay the fine, the chief officer led several officers to his relatives home and said that if he did not pay the fine, then he would not be allowed to run his business any more. They robbed 3000 Yuan from his relative by force.
3. The practitioners detained in Xinjian County declared that all the guarantee letters and repentance letters giving up Falun Dafa were all void because they were forced by Authorities to write them against their will.
4. Examples of Persecution
One male practitioner in the detention center practiced Falun Gong exercises at midnight and was discovered by officer Cheng Jianxun. Cheng Jianxun rubbed our respected teachers picture across his face and he forced this practitioner to wear shackles the next day. He also struck this practitioners head twice with a heavy blow using a blunt object. This practitioner felt dizzy and weak. Cheng Jiangxun then kicked the practitioner in his right eye. His eye became swollen immediately, yet he silently endured it without any complaint.
At 7:00PM on January 7 (Lunar calendar), while the police station was interrogating him, he was forced to kneel down during the interrogation and was beaten more than 3 hours. At that time, 4 officers took turns beating his head and stepping on his two shackled hands. When officer Deng made a motion to another person to handcuff this practitioner, the other officers fists were punching his face blow after blow.
When they saw that his attitude was so determined, they took even severer measures. Officer Lou stepped on his two legs. Officer Deng used two fingers to forcefully dig under his collarbone. This practitioner was in such a pain that he almost fainted. Suddenly, his chest was covered with a lot of blood. Later, he could not endure the abuse any longer, so he promised not to practice Falun Gong exercises. However, these viciously inhumane officers would not leave him alone. Four of them took turns beating his head for another 3 hours. After almost 6 hours of torture, this practitioner became unconscious and his body was swollen and bruised. Later, another police officer dragged him to a chair, and two other officers pulled his ears and slapped his face. The blood was dripping down his chest and shoulders, yet they still did not leave him alone. Another two officers pulled his hair, lifted his shackled hands, and forced him to smear Falun Dafa, yet this practitioner determinedly refused to do so.
Later, the family of this practitioner was fined 6,000 Yuan (about $700, or 12 months average wages) to release him. However, the local police station then forced his family to pay another 3,000 Yuan in order to release him. His family had to pay up to 12,000 Yuan in total in order to set him free. Now his family faces a financial crisis.
This is just one of many examples in Xinjian County.
In order to maintain their official positions, the government at Xinjian County took the cruelest measures in Jiangxi Province toward Falun Dafa Practitioners. We are hoping that they will immediately stop suppressing Falun Dafa and kind Falun Dafa practitioners.
[Mainland China] Brief reports of persecution on practitioners in Hegang City of Heilongjiang Province.
Brief Report 1: One practitioner in Hegang city, male, 44 years old, is a teacher. He was detained in Lulingshan detention center July 1999. After being released, he was detained again in the city detention center last October, and then was transferred to the No.1 and 2 Jail. He was released at the end of last November. However, he was caught again in early February and put into No.1 Jail. He was tortured in jail with his hands and feet handcuffed together for 35 days. After that, he could not walk. Now he has been put into a labor camp. His wife Gao Fenying (also a teacher) is in the same situation with him. Their daughter, a high school student, was put into jail too. All family members have been detained.
Brief Report 2: One practitioner in Hegang city, female, is 32 years old. She was detained in the 24th cell in No. 1 Jail of Hegang city. She was hung up, beaten and humiliated for 3 hours.
Brief Report 3: The Local government and police department in Hegang have enacted some regulations. Released practitioners must post 2,000 to 4,000 Yuan bond money. Practitioners who were found to practice at home have to post 1,000 to 2,000 Yuan bond money.
Brief Report 4: Mr. Kong, the director of No. 1 Jail of Hegang city, forced about 10 practitioners to make a pigsty. The practitioners refused to obey. He was so angry that he moved practitioners from the second floor to the first floor, where the practitioners were jailed with the regular criminals. He incited the prisoners to beat the practitioners, forced practitioners to curse Falun Dafa or give up their practice. Practitioners did not obey, so they were beaten up. During the two months from early June to the middle of August, he did not allow practitioners to change their clothes. In order to cover-up the situation, he did not permit the tortured practitioners to meet with other practitioners. As they could not change clothes, any wounds on their body, became infected causing severe pain, due to the unsanitary conditions.
