In Heilongjiang province, Falun Dafa practitioners?phone calls were eavesdropped by police departments. Police attach a type of signal-analysis device to switchboards of telephone companies. The device can detect whether the phone is connected. Once the phone calls get through, a recorder will start recording. All phone calls, whether inbound or outbound, can be monitored automatically 24 hours a day. This type of device has been set up in the Harbin, Jiamusi and Mudanjiang areas. The situation in other areas remains unknown. In addition, in some places, police installed tapping machines in practitioners?offices to monitor their phone calls. Please be alert not to talk too much about things related to Dafa.

One day in mid-July, a female Dafa practitioner of nearly 60 years of age in Mainland China wanted to pay a visit to another practitioner. As her phone call was monitored, the police arrested her on her way to the other practitioners home. In the detention center, a guard loudly cursed, beat, and kicked her. But she did not fight back. In the afternoon, her blood pressure rose to 170 units upon examination. Before that, however, her blood pressure had always been normal. Her daughter discovered this when she visited her mother. Being concerned that her mother could not sustain such insults, the daughter reported this situation to related government offices and asked for another examination. In the second examination, the old mothers blood pressure rose to 190. So her sons and daughters sued the guard in the detention center for brutality, and vilifying their mother and asked the guard to apologize to their mother. The mother was released ahead of time due to her unstable blood pressure after 7 days?of detention. Several days later, the director of the detention center and the guard went to the practitioners home to apologize. Though the director showed good manners, the guard was still very rude, which hurt the family members. In face of the evil behavior by the law-enforcement people, the family decided to go on with their suite against the guard. They wanted to get justice and asked the guard to compensate them for the economic loss and mental damage caused to their mother.
[Mainland China] Before the Mid-autumn Festival [September 12 ], a lot of Dafa practitioners were arrested for no reason in Xiaochi Town, Huanggang County of Hubei Province. As long as the practitioners said they would continue to practice Falun Dafa, they would be arrested. As a result, a lot of practitioners spent the Mid-autumn Festival in jail. The festival is for family reunion in the Chinese culture.
[Mainland China] Zhao Tianlin , a Falun Dafa practitioner from Taigu County in central Shanxi Province, was secretly taken away from his home by the police and sentenced to two years of labor.
[Mainland China] Since the end of April, the guards in Jiangxi province have been using the reduction or prolonging of drug addicts' prison terms to force them to monitor and persecute Falun Dafa practitioners in prison 24 hours a day, restricting and interfering with their Fa study and practice. Because of the constant pressure from the guards, the Dafa scriptures and books were stolen, robbed and searched, and the practitioners who continued their practice were cursed and severely beaten.
A prison's section chief broke an arm of practitioner Li Yaping from Yingtan City of Jiangxi Province. Jiang Xiaoyan from Nanchang City lost consciousness from the baton beating. Because of reciting the Dafa scriptures, Li Meilian and Guo Jinlian were handcuffed and their mouths were sealed with tape and became swollen from beatings by the guards. Zhao Xiangying was hit on the face with shoes by the guards after she was discovered to accept the scriptures from her family. As a result, her face became swollen so that her two eyes could hardly open. Currently the practitioners cannot study the Fa and practice the exercises. They are monitored around the clock, required to sit with two legs straight, waists upright, eyes open, and not allowed to speak. Their sleeping and bathing are all strictly constrained. The brutal torture of Dafa practitioners is still going on.... The persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in such a cruel and sordid manner repeatedly happening in our ancient civilized country that is "ruled by law" and in this the so-called "best period of human rights record". It is hard to believe! We urgently call on all the kind-hearted people in the world to support and help us in order to stop the evil persecution from going on further!

[Mainland China] Since July, sixty-nine female Falun Dafa practitioners have been sent to the 2nd Team of Chatou Female Labor Camp in Guangzhou City.
On September 6, there were 39 female Falun Gong practitioners in the 2nd Team of Chatou Female Labor Camp in Guangzhou City. In addition, the names of another 30 female Falun Gong practitioners who had been sentenced to labor camps were sent to the labor camp. They will arrive soon and increase the number of female practitioners in this Team to 69 since this July.
After one month of calmness on the surface, the National Day [October 1] is approaching and the police have started "taking care of" the practitioners again. It was reported that "education classes" would be held again and a crackdown campaign would be renewed soon. This time, the classes will last for 2-3 months and practitioners that are not transformed at the end will be sent to labor camps.
