(Clearwisdom.net, November 9, 2003) On 8th November, Dafa practitioners from Ireland were joined by practitioners from England and Belgium for activities in the Dublin city center to let the Irish people know more about Falun Dafa and the brutal persecution that is happening in China. The main activity was a public mock trial of Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin, featuring speeches from several Irish practitioners who are direct victims of former Chinese President Jiang Zemin's brutal reign of terror. The practitioners spoke in detail about the crimes against humanity that Jiang has committed in order to persecute Falun Gong practitioners, approaching the subject from different angles.

Trinity College student Zhao Ming told the Irish people about the 22 months he was imprisoned in Chinese labor camps because he is a Falun Gong practitioner. He recounted the brutal torture, beatings, electric shock treatment and sleep deprivation that he suffered after he appealed to the Chinese regime to stop their violent and unfounded suppression of Falun Gong. Another Irish practitioner talked about the benefits her whole family received from practicing Falun Gong, including improved health, less stress and a more relaxed, kind and friendly outlook on life. She then went on to reveal how the persecution brought disaster and misery to her peaceful family and that two of her sisters have been brainwashed while illegally detained in China because they practiced Falun Gong.

A western Irish practitioner talked about the despicable nature of Jiang's persecution and how women practitioners are often targeted, suffering rape, gang rape, sexual abuse and forced abortions. She used three examples, including the Chinese authorities beating to death Falun Gong practitioner Mrs. Wang Lixuan and her seven-month-old son. Another western Irish practitioner talked about his experience when he went to China to help Zhao Ming after he was released from a labor camp in 2002. The western Irish practitioner was captured by Chinese authorities, interrogated and then taken to an underground car park and violently beaten.

One Irish practitioner talked about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by Chinese authorities in Ireland itself. He outlined the Chinese Embassy's refusal of passport renewals that have stifled the freedom of Irish practitioners. He also talked about the illegal activities of the Chinese authorities who have pressured Irish organizations and authorities in their attempts to spread their persecution of Falun Gong abroad. Another practitioner talked about the attempts of the Irish people to rescue two Dublin students who are being persecuted in China. Liu Feng visited China at Christmas in 1999 and was arrested after handing in a letter to the Chinese authorities, calling for an end to the persecution. Recent reports say that he is illegally imprisoned in a Dalian labor camp, although his family has not been allowed to see him since 2002. Yang Fang was also illegally imprisoned in China and has now had her passport confiscated, leaving her unable to return to Ireland and continue her studies

Many Irish people learned about the Jiang regime's heinous crimes, which have already made these criminals the subject of several lawsuits throughout Europe, including in Cyprus, Iceland, Spain, France, Germany and Switzerland. One Irish lady had tears in her eyes as she listened to a practitioner discussing harrowing experiences in the past four years of persecution. Many people approached practitioners and offered their support. A keen sense to bring the criminal Jiang to justice in a court of law was apparent in all sorts of Irish people, from teenagers to elderly men. After they heard the truth about Jiang's persecution, they were shocked and indignant. Many people were happy to take more information about Falun Gong after witnessing the mock trial. The practitioners felt that the activity was very successful and were glad that many more people had gotten a chance to learn the truth.
