In studying the Fa [principles, law of the universe], especially during the early period of my cultivation, I did not have a clear understanding of what Master said about studying the Fa without pursuit. Very often I treated Fa-study with human logic and with the mentality of obtaining knowledge. Sometimes, I also mixed it with the human mentality of taking things for granted.
From Master's recent lectures, we learned that the present human culture is created for Dafa. The whole historical process of human society is nothing but a play established for the Fa. The principles within the human world and the understanding of the universe are very superficial, and they are wrong when looked at from higher realms. As cultivators, when we understand a layer of the Fa's principles, it is actually a manifestation in the human world after our divine side has assimilated to the Fa and elevated itself. It enables us to break away from human notions and the constraint of attachments, strengthen our steadfast belief in Fa, so that we can study the Fa better. Thus, we should not limit ourselves to just the superficial understandings.
The tremendous change we go through in our cultivation mainly manifests in other dimensions, and the deeper meaning of the Fa is not on the surface of the words. When we study the Fa with a pure heart that desires to assimilate to the Fa, and with no pursuit, this is creating good conditions for improving our divine side and for our sentient beings in other dimensions to assimilate to the Fa. In cultivation, how many principles of the Fa we understand is closely related to our state of cultivation and how many attachments we actually give up. When our human side assimilates itself to the Fa completely, we understand in an instant all the Fa-principles at our level. And that is the genuine understanding of a divine being, because that is the result of assimilating to the Fa.
Reading the books and studying the Fa is the same as listening to Master teaching the Fa and assimilating to the Fa, so we as Dafa disciples, should study the Fa with a state of mind that is respectful to Master and the Fa.
The purpose of different methods of experience sharing, including reading fellow practitioners' experience-sharing articles, is to find in time our xinxing [mind nature, moral character] problems, which are not easily detected by us, and eliminate superficial obstacles. In this way, we can study the Fa more actively and with a purer heart. We should not pursue higher understandings or seek out something new and curious when we study the Fa. If we do not upgrade our xinxing and our understanding from the perspective of the Fa, what we obtain might just be the knowledge that comes from human notions.
