Thank you for your letter of 31 March 2004, in which you informed me of the persecution of adherents of Falun Gong by the Police Force of the People's Republic of China. I cannot but agree that the treatment meted out to those who belong to Falun Gong and also to people who are in favor or belong to other persuasions and world views is from the viewpoint of Human Rights unacceptable. And that is why I join the voices of those who challenge the representatives of the Peoples Republic of China to reevaluate their policy toward such groups of citizens and end their persecution.
