1. Persecution Incidents Experienced by Practitioner Mr. Yin Xiangyang from Xinjia Town, Longkou City, Shandong Province

In late July 1997, Xinjia Town officials arrested Mr. Yin Xiangyang and detained him in the local police station. He was tortured for almost the entire evening. At the end of August, they tried to compel him to criticize Falun Gong. Because he refused to cooperate with this ridiculous request and also tore into pieces the books that slandered Teacher, the head of the Political and Law Committee and the town leader barbarically beat him. The local head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) committee head, Qu, who was watching the beating, shouted verbal abuse of Teacher. In late September, the Party personnel once again detained Mr. Yin and his wife, Ms. Wu Manping, in the town government building. In addition, the local police officers searched his residence. The couple was detained for four or five days.

Four Practitioners in Shandong and Yunnan Provinces Die as a Result of the Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Xu Zhiming was 56 years old. He was a peasant in Kongjia Village, Malianzhuang Township in Laixi City, Shandong Province. After he started practicing Falun Gong in 1996, all his diseases, including congenital tracheitis and long- bothering cholecystitic, disappeared, and he became very healthy. After the persecution started on July 20, 1999, Mr. Xu traveled to Beijing and appealed for Falun Gong several times, but the local regime arrested, detained, and tortured him, and ransacked his home many times. One evening in 2003, while Mr. Xu was doing the Dafa exercises with another practitioner, personnel from the 610 Office and officers from the local police station broke into his home, arrested him, and detained him in for 28 days the Laixi City Prison, where he was tortured. They then sentenced him to two years of forced labor and didn't release him until December 2004. After that, personnel from the 610 Office often harassed him at home even though his health was deteriorating. In June 2006 he was diagnosed with late stage gastric cancer and died on the afternoon of August 24, 2006.
