(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes reports of persecution that took place in 31 cities or counties in 14 provinces. In this report, 27 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention and at least 56 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Minhou City, Fujian Province] Rujiang Forced Labor Camp Brutally Tortured Mr. Zheng Wenxiu

On October 1, 2007, local police "illegally arrested" Mr. Zheng Wenxiu, a practitioner from Minhou City. Mr. Zheng went on a hunger strike o protest the persecution in Rujiang Forced Labor Camp. He was brutally tortured and now he is very weak.

2. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] On October 20, 2007, Mr. Guo Fuyun, a Practitioner from Wanggezhuang Village, Songgezhuang Township, Was Arrested Again

3. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Zhimei and Mr. Zhang Yun Arrested

At noon on October 2, 2007, five policemen arrested Shenzhou practitioners Ms. Zhang Zhimei and Mr. Zhang Yun at their home. They are currently detained in Wuqiang Detention Center.

4. [Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Supplementary Information on the Arrest of Practitioner Zeng Shugang in Jieyang City

At about 2 p.m. on October 17, 2007, eight or nine policemen including Zhang Youcai from the Jieyang City 610 Office went to and ransacked Mr. Zeng Shugang's home. Mr. Zeng was taken to the Xima Police Station in the Rongcheng District, Jieyang City, and later transferred to the Jieyang City Detention Center.

Jieyang police pressured Mr. Zeng's wife to give up practicing Falun Dafa.

6. [Wuyi Mountain, Fujian Province] Ms. An Renrong and Mr. Zhu Changsong Persecuted

In the second half of April 2007, practitioner Mr. An Renrong was arrested and sent to a forced labor camp. Practitioner Mr. Zhu Changsong was forced to become homeless and destitute in order to avoid being arrested at home.

In October 2007, the guards of Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp ordered drug-addicted prisoners to tie Ms. Li Guiling, a practitioner, to a bed and stuff her mouth with rags. She is now confined in a room and being tortured.

10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Xiuzhi and Others Arrested

On the morning of October 22, 2007, Jinzhou District practitioners including Ms. Yang Xiuzhi, Ms. Han Jiling, and Ms. Sun Guifen went to Youyi Police Station in the Jinzhou District, Dalian City to clarify the truth. The head of the police station and two other officers arrested the three women and took them to the Jinnan Road Detention Center in Dalian City.

11. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Lishui County National Security Team Arrested Five Practitioners

On October 10, 2007, the Lishui County National Security Team of Nanjing City arrested five practitioners, including Ms. Pan Chengying (around 30 years old, a teacher at the Lishui County High School), Ms. Zhang Yonghua, Ms. Hu Huilan, Ms. Liu Wenying, and a practitioner whose name was unknown. Zhang Yonghua, Hu Huilan, and Liu Wenying have been detained in forced labor camps before.

12. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lan Xishun and Mr. Chen Yugui Harassed

On August 12, 2007, practitioner Mr. Lan Xishun was reported to police when he went to Gao Deli's home in Matang to clarify the truth. The next day, police broke into and ransacked Mr. Lan's home. The police also threatened Mr. Lan's wife, and then went to practitioner Mr. Chen Yugui's home and confiscated some of his property.

13. [Huangzhou, Hubei Province] Ms. Wu Xiufeng Reported and Arrested When She Posted Truth-Clarification Materials on the Morning of October 20, 2007

14. [Anshun City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Zhou Juying and Another Practitioner Arrested

On October 19, 2007, Ms. Zhou Juying and another practitioner were arrested when they were studying the Fa in a group at Zhou Juying's home. Zhou Juying is currently detained at the Heishitou Detention Center in Anshun City.

15. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wu Qigui Arrested

Mr. Wu Qigui, around 68 years old, is a Falun Dafa practitioner in Guangzhou City. On the afternoon of September 23, 2007, a group of plainclothes police broke into his home, confiscated his computer, Dafa books and truth-clarification materials, and arrested him. Mr. Wu's whereabouts are currently unknown.

16. [Huian City, Jiangsu Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Police from the Huian City 610 Office recently arrested six practitioners. On July 12, Mr. Wan Zhengquan was arrested; on July 25, Ms. Yang Liping; on September 4, Ms. Qiu Yaoling; on September 15, Mr. Ma Hongjun; on October 8, Ms. Jin Xue; and on October 16, Ms. Zhang Qiangmei. Police officers Wang Jianhuai and Chang Sulin beat these practitioners and ransacked their homes. They confiscated a computer, a cellphone, an MP3 player, an MP4 player, an SD card, a USB drive, an identification card, keys, and clothing from Ma Hongjun's home. When Ma's family went to request the return of the confiscated items, they were only given the identification card, keys, and clothing. Jin Xue and Zhang Qiangmei are still in a detention center.

17. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Dai Zhongzhen Brutally Tortured in Wangcun Forced Labor Camp

In April 2007, Ms. Dai Zhongzhen, a practitioner from Weifang City, was arrested and detained in Wangcun Forced Labor Camp, where she was brutally tortured. Her family went to the camp and asked to visit her many times, but they were turned away every time. Now Ms. Dai is in very bad health.

18. [Suizhou City, Hubei Province] Mr. Ke Yugang Arrested

On August 13, 2007, police from the Pinghu City National Security Team, the Danghu Police Station, and the Zhapu Police Station in Zhejiang Province forcibly searched the apartment rented by Mr. Ke Yugang, a practitioner from Suizhou City. The police confiscated his laptop, printer, two bicycles, and other property, and arrested Mr. Ke.

19. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] An County Court Plans to Sentence Ms. Zheng Linghua

Ms. Zheng Linghua is a teacher at the Xiaoba Elementary School in Mianyang City, An County, and also a practitioner. In May 2007, the police from the Peicheng District National Security Team of Mianyang City arrested her and searched her home after she was reported to police. An County Court plans to sentence Ms. Zheng on November 22, 2007.

20. [Wangqing County, Jilin Province] Many Practitioners, Including Zheng Lijun, Arrested

On October 12, 2007, police from the National Security Team of Wangqing County Police Department, the 610 Office and other police stations arrested many practitioners. Mr. Zheng Lijun is in Zhongan Detention Center and others are being held in Mantianxing Brainwashing Center.

Mr. Zheng Lijun's son is 14 years old and in Grade 7. He is all by himself at home.

21. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Supplementary Information on the Arrest of Six Practitioners Including Gu Xingfeng

On October 13, 2007, the Miyi County 610 Office ordered the Baima Town Police Station to arrest six practitioners from Baima Town, including Ms. Gu Xingfeng, around 60 years old; Mr. Li Jiaming, around 50 years old; Mr. Li Guangfu, in his 60s; Mr. Wang Guoqiong, around 40 years old; and Mr. Wang Ming and his wife. Li Jiaming, Li Guangfu, and Wang Guoqiong are in the the Miyi County Detention Center. Gu Xingfen and Wang Ming and his wife are being detained in the Baima Town Police Station.

22. [Xichang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Fang Zhengping Arrested When He Went Back to His Hometown in Yunnan Province to Apply for His Identification Card and Clarify the Truth

23. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Guo Lan'e Arrested

Ms. Guo Lan'e lives in the family housing of the Yellow River Bureau of Water Resources. On October 2, 2007, Ms. Guo was taken away and is now detained in Bake. Her family was ordered to pay 50,000 yuan, otherwise she would be detained in a forced labor camp for one year for practicing Falun Gong.

24. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wei Yaru Persecuted

Ms. Wei Yaru, 58 years old, is a retired official of the 7111 Factory of the Aerospace Department No. 7 Institute in the Wenjiang District, Chengdu City. On October 19, 2007, police from the Longquanyi District Police Station arrested her for practicing Falun Gong. She is being held in the Longquanyi District Detention Center. Her family is not allowed to visit her.

25. [Wangqing County, Jilin Province] Mr. Chi Yaocai Arrested

Mr. Chi Yaocai, in his 40s, is from Tumen City, Jilin Province. At around 7 p.m. on October 21, 2007, he was reported to the police when he distributed truth-clarification materials in Daxinggou, Wangqing County. Later police from the Daxinggou Police Station arrested him. He is being detained in the Daxinggou Forestry Bureau.

26. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Fan Zhilian Was Arrested When She Clarified the Truth in Tiedong Market in Jilin City on September 17, 2007

27. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Police from the National Security Team of Zhuozhou City Police Department Arrested Practitioners Including Mr. Dong Hanjie, Ms. Xing Suhua, Ms. Gao Chunlia,n and Mr. Ren Kun on October 12, 2007

28. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Mr. Li Zheng Persecuted Relentlessly in a Brainwashing Center

Since 1999, Huangshi practitioner Mr. Li Zheng has been detained off and on for five or six years. October 13, 2007, was the last day of his two-year term in Shayang Forced Labor Camp in Hubei Province. He was supposed to be released, but the camp sent him to Erdaopeng Brainwashing Center in the Jianghan District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, because he refused to be "transformed." He is still being detained there.

29. [Xiamen City, Fujian Province] Fuzhou Women's Prison Transferred Ye Mi to an Unidentified Prison

Ms. Ye Mi is a teacher at Xiamen University. In 2004, she was arrested and sentenced to four years of imprisonment. She was detained in Fuzhou Women's Prison until June 2007. Afterwards, she was transferred to a prison in Qingliu, Fujian Province. Her family members are not allowed to visit her.

30. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Zuping and Several Others Arrested

Ms. Li Zuping, a practitioner, works at the Aisheng Business Card Store in Weifang City. At 1:30 p.m. on October 11, 2007, police went to the store and arrested her. They also ransacked the store, confiscating two computers, a scanner, three printers, a copy machine, a paper cutter, a fax machine, some cash, etc. Ms. Li's home was also ransacked and her bank books were taken. Another employee of the store, Xiao Zhang, was threatened and forced to disclose her home address. Because her parents are Falun Dafa practitioners, their home was also searched and they were arrested.

The police also ransacked the Aiping Printing Shop run by practitioner Ms. Xiao Mou. Ms. Xiao Mou and Mr. Gao Jilong were arrested. Xiao Mou was released the next day, but Gao Jilong is still detained. The store property taken by the police included two computers, a copy machine, two printers, a paper cutter, a fax machine, a seal engraving machine, some cash, and other items.

The police searched the Chengxin Business Card Store run by another practitioner and confiscated a copy machine, a fax, four or five printers, and a paper cutter.

The police also confiscated the follow items from another practitioner's printing store: a computer, a copy machine, a printer, cash, etc.

Currently, the following practitioners are still detained: Ms. Xiao Zhang's parents, Ms. Jingjing's parents, Mr. Li Tianmin and his wife, Mr. Gao Jilong, Mr. Li Qiang, Ms. Jiao Meifeng and her nephew, Mr. Wang Xiaosheng, and Ms. Ma Ying.

31. [Xianghe County, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Jianming Detained in a Brainwashing Center

Mr. Wang Jianming is a doctor at the Xianghe County Chinese Medicine Hospital in Langfang City. Because he practices Falun Dafa, police from the Xianghe 610 Office arrested him and took him to the Langfang City Brainwashing Center in October 2007. Since July 20, 1999, Mr. Wang has been detained in forced labor camps twice. He has been fined and detained many times. Because of the persecution, his wife was pressured to divorce him and gained custody of his son. Under such stress and pressure, his father died of grief.

32. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zeng Shunlan and Her Husband Arrested

At around 10: 45 a.m. on October 17, 2007, a group of Yueyang police officers broke into the home of married practitioners Ms. Zeng Shunlan and Mr. Xie Zhengzi, arrested them, and confiscated Falun Gong books, Master Li's pictures, and other items.

33. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yang Xiaoxia and Others Arrested

On October 19, 2007, officers from the Guanghan 610 Office and police station arrested Guanghan practitioners Ms. Yang Xiaoxia, Mr. Mou Shiru, Ms. Qin Jiamin, Mr. Gao Shuang, and Ms. Chen Chuanzhao. They are currently being held in Guanghan Detention Center.

34. [Guixi, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Huang Lanqing and Mr. Cao Weihong Arrested

After the Yingtan National Security Police arrested Guixi practitioners Ms. Peng Ying and Mr. Huang Hongqiang on October 8, 2007, the police arrested Ms. Huang Lanqing and Mr. Cao Weihong. They went to the kindergarten run by Cao Weihong, demanded that a teacher open Mr. Cao's office, and confiscated a computer and other property.

35. [Chongqing City] Ms. Qiao Guanghui Arrested

Ms. Qiao Guanghui is a teacher at the Employee's Children's School in the Yubei District Oil Base. At 10 p.m. on September 29, 2007, the Yubei District 610 Office arrested her and confiscated her Dafa books and truth-clarification materials. Ms. Qiao is currently detained in the Yubei District Detention Center.

36. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Lijiang and Others Face Sentencing

After Shanhaiguan police officers from Qinhuangdao City persecuted to death Ms. Deng Wenyang, they recently sent practitioners Ms. Chen Lijiang, Ms. Zhang Qinghua, Ms. Shen Shuqin and Ms. Li Xiurong to the Shanhaiguan Procuratorate, where they plan to sentence them.

Since September 2007, these four practitioners have been detained in the Changli Detention Center.

37. [Jianyang City, Sichuan Province] Persecution of Practitioners by Jianyang City Education Bureau

On October 1, 2007, the Jianyang City 610 Office ordered staff of the Jianyang City Education Bureau to feign concern for practitioners in order to deceive all the practitioners in the education system of Jianyang City. They also tried to force practitioners to write guarantee statements to give up the practice by threatening to send them to brainwashing centers.

Jianyang Education Bureau has deprived many teachers who practice Falun Dafa of employment, including Mr. Wang Chao, Ms. Chen Shubin, Mr. Yan Yong, and Ms. Xiao Huiqing. Mr. Chen Juwen, a superior teacher in the Xinhe Central School, was persecuted to death. Shortly afterwards, Mr. Hu Xuehui, a retired teacher of Yunlong Elementary School, was sent to Ziyang Brainwashing Center.
