Teacher has said,
"The old forces dare not oppose our clarifying the truth or saving sentient beings. What's key is to not let them take advantage of the gaps in your state of mind when you do things"("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston").
I often go out to clarify the facts and distribute Dafa materials with fellow practitioners. Once I clarified the facts to a director of the neighborhood association, who had been badly poisoned by the evil Communist Party. She shouted angrily, "You are truly bold, daring to come to my turf to do this. Go away before I call the 610 Office." I was not affected by her speech, however, and answered calmly, "I am here to save you. You must not have read any Dafa books. Dafa teaches people to be good, and no matter how you look at it, Dafa is beneficial to the country and its people. Please be sure to treat Dafa practitioners with kindness. That will be a great deed, and you will be rewarded with a good future." I was very calm at the time, with no fear in my mind. By now a large crowd had gathered around us. As I spoke, I gradually forgot my surroundings, as though people, trees, houses, and everything else had disappeared. I alone was left there telling people the facts about Dafa.
Without knowing exactly how much time had passed, I saw the director leave in frustration, and the crowd dispersed. I bent over to pick up the Dafa pamphlet that the director had torn up. A man gave me a thumbs-up and said, "Ma'am, you are remarkable!"
In 2005, a fellow practitioner and I were arrested and taken to a police station while we were distributing Dafa materials. I was cuffed to an iron chair, and two policemen were watching me. I told them the facts about Dafa. "You must remember that Falun Dafa is good and that you will be rewarded if you treat practitioners well." Deep into the night, I sent forth righteous thoughts to make them fall asleep, and soon they both did. I sent forth righteous thoughts again while I said silently to the handcuffs, "You are supposed to be used on criminals. I am a kind Dafa practitioner, a good person. You should not restrain me. Open up and let me go." As soon as I generated these thoughts, the handcuffs opened with a "pop." I got up and left the police station with dignity. It was 4:00 a.m. I continued to tell people the facts about Dafa and save people after I got home.
An evil man once sent his German shepherd to attack me when he saw me distributing Dafa materials. The dog charged toward me, but I was neither moved nor afraid. Teacher said, "Just by staying unaffected you will be able to handle all situations" ("Teaching the Fa at the Conference in the Midwest-U.S."). I thought to myself, "I am doing the most righteous thing. The dog will not bite me." The German shepherd turned around before he reached me. The man was upset, but there was nothing he could do. I walked away unharmed.
Another time, a drunk came up to me while I was distributing materials in the corridor of a building and asked, "What are you doing?" I had no fear and replied without hesitation, "I am distributing Dafa materials to save people." He grabbed me by my collar and was about to drag me to the police station. I said, "You are truly unwise. If you take the person trying to save you to the police station, you will be punished by heaven." He let go of me and left, taking a copy of the Dafa pamphlet with him.
In spite of the ups and downs I have experienced during the past few years, I never stopped going out to clarify the facts and distribute Dafa materials, whether day or night, summer or winter. I met many people in the process. Some approved of me, and we became good friends. They even asked me for Dafa materials every so often. Others held a different opinion and either asked me to leave or threatened to call the police. It was like a spice rack with many different flavors, and it helped me get rid of many of my attachments. I truly appreciated Teacher's words, "Human society is one big practice site for the cultivation of my Dafa disciples" ("Fa Teaching at the 2007 New York Fa Conference"). I truly understand the deeper meaning of this sentence now.
So I have indeed enlightened to the following: If our minds are focused exclusively on saving people and we have no thought of ourselves, we will emerge from the old cosmos. All threats will become harmless: the German shepherd charging toward you will turn around, the person grabbing your collar to drag you to the police station will let go, and the handcuffs binding you to a chair will open by themselves. Teacher is indeed watching over us all the time.
Fellow practitioners, clarifying the facts and distributing Dafa materials may appear to be risky on the surface, but if one can truly let go of one's human attachments and think only of sentient beings, they become the safest things we can do. Let us all step forward and clarify the facts and distribute Dafa materials. Let us save more sentient beings.
