Master taught us in "Solid Cultivation" from Hong Yin:
"Study the Fa and gain the Fa,
Focus on how you study and cultivate,
Let each and every thing
be measured against the Fa.
Only then, with that,
is it actually cultivation."
For several years, my fellow practitioners in my hometown have profoundly enlightened to the meaning of "actual cultivation" by solidly cultivating ourselves and validating Dafa. We have understood that only by validating Dafa with our actual righteous actions can we be genuine Dafa disciples who are truly "following Master's words." It's very easy to mention these several short words, while it's very hard for us to truly follow the words of Master.
Before 2004, our local Falun Gong practitioners had divided my hometown into five locations: Eastern area, Southern area, Western area, Northern area and Middle area. In each area, we elected one practitioner as a Dafa assistant. With the help of other veteran Falun Gong practitioners, they organized Fa-study groups with experience sharing among fellow practitioners and also oversaw distributing truth-clarification materials. At that time we realized that we could better validate Dafa if we studied the Fa very well. Therefore, we organized Fa-study groups in each area. Almost every day my fellow practitioners gathered to study the Fa, share cultivation experiences and send forth righteous thoughts. As a result, we upgraded and elevated ourselves dramatically by understanding different meanings of the Fa at different levels. In order to distribute truth-clarifying materials efficiently, my fellow practitioners divided the streets and communities in my hometown into different sections according to the number of Dafa disciples who were living within that section, so that all the residents of my hometown could always get up-to-date information about Falun Gong.
After my fellow practitioners solved the problem of distributing Dafa materials to the residents of our hometown, we realized another problem. There are more than 360 villages and townships in our county and most of the residents in those rural areas couldn't get any kind of information about Dafa. Therefore, we communicated and coordinated with Dafa practitioners in those rural areas. Through our communications with them, they understood that since they were also Dafa disciples they were responsible for coming out and validating Dafa. As a result of upgrading our understandings, we helped them set up many small-scale Falun Gong materials production sites. During the process, we provided our help selflessly on almost every aspect, including capital, printing, raw materials, technologies and training. Very soon, the small-scale Falun Gong materials production sites that we established became "like flowers blossoming everywhere" throughout our county. As a result, practitioners in rural areas saved a lot of time by not needing to get materials from town weekly. The dangers and pressures that my fellow practitioners in the town faced have also decreased.
Master taught us in the article, "For the Good of the World"
"Make clear the truth,
and drive off foul spirits.
Spread widely the Nine Commentaries,
and the wicked Party shall fade.
With righteous thoughts,
save the world's people.
I just don't believe their consciences
are irretrievably lost."
We realized that in order to save more people in our area, we should expose the evil crimes of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and thus rescue sentient beings from the influence of the CCP. To do so, we must follow Master's requirements of "spreading widely the Nine Commentaries." Later, we began producing the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party at the materials production sites and then distributed them in rural areas. At the beginning, since copies of the Nine Commentaries were not plentiful, we could only distribute twenty or thirty booklets to the people in each township. At the same time, along with the booklets, we distributed some other Falun Gong truth-clarification materials. Later, after we shared our understandings, a fellow practitioner pointed out that we hadn't taken full advantage of the power of Nine Commentaries to save sentient beings, since the number of booklets we produced wasn't enough, and that we should distribute a booklet to every family in our county. It was easy to think of this, but it was very hard to produce the booklets. However, we are Dafa disciples, and no hardship can interfere with us. At that time, we shared our experiences and put together our money.
We obtained a large printer with the help of practitioners from other areas. Fellow practitioners from other areas helped us to find a way to rent a secure house and to find a practitioner who was knowledgeable about producing truth-clarification materials. The practitioner at the materials production site worked really hard. He always worked overtime, and sometimes he even worked through the night. As a result, he produced plenty of copies of the Nine Commentaries, so our fellow practitioners had enough booklets to distribute throughout our entire county.
Since my fellow practitioners were at different levels in their Fa understandings, many of them didn't have the courage to distribute the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party booklets in the rural areas, and thus we looked for fellow practitioners who would do so. Some female practitioners who were almost seventy years old went to the countryside to distribute the Nine Commentaries and other materials. It was not easy to do, so we collected our money together and bought a mini-van. We could then transport seven or eight practitioners and over one thousand copies of the Nine Commentaries, along with other materials at the same time. Every time we set off to distribute the truth-clarification materials, we put the Nine Commentaries booklets, fliers and video discs together, and we even brought banners that could be posted on walls. Before going to the countryside, we collected local maps and became familiar with the routes that we should follow. We also contacted local fellow practitioners to see if they had the courage to clarify the truth with us. If they said yes, they could distribute the materials with us. If not, we asked if one of them could direct us to good destinations in their areas. If there were no local practitioners, we sent a fellow practitioner to ride a motorcycle there and find the best places for us, then we distributed the materials in the evening to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. For the past several years, we have distributed the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party to villages all over the county, even on holidays and in bad weather.
During the spring season several years ago, it was very cold in northern China. We went to a village to distribute the Nine Commentaries, but after arriving we found that the road was covered with mud everywhere due to the melting snow. When we got out of the car, our shoes were covered with mud. Some fellow practitioners hesitated to continue and they wanted leave and come back later. However, some other practitioners had strong righteous thoughts and said, "We are Dafa disciples, and this difficulty is nothing for us. Since we are here to save sentient beings, we will not go back." So we went on, ignored the mud, and kept distributing materials. All materials were sealed tightly in a bag, so we could put them in a place that people could see, and they would not get wet. We went from one village to another. After daybreak, we went back home and found that there was mud up to our knees and our shoes were unrecognizable. We looked at each other and burst into laughter.
There are almost four hundred thousand people and over one hundred thousand families in our county. For each family to have a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, we would need almost one hundred thousand copies. The cost of each copy is about two yuan, so we needed more than two hundred thousand yuan to cover the entire cost. We were not reluctant to proceed slowly. We believed that if we wanted to save sentient beings, Master would help us solve the problems. Strengthened by Master, we kept distributing the Nine Commentaries to villages for several years, until all villages were covered without any omissions.
After we had distributed the Nine Commentaries to all villages in the county, practitioners felt relieved, and some fellow practitioners thought it was marvelous that some practitioners had had the courage to distribute these booklets over the past years. Some even admired those practitioners. We immediately shared our understanding on this matter and we realized that all these achievements are accomplished by Master and we are all particles in the Fa. Those fellow practitioners who went to the countryside are the same as those practitioners who did not, and having or not having the courage to distribute the Nine Commentaries in the countryside is not the criteria used to measure a Dafa disciple as a genuine cultivator. The sole criteria is Dafa taught by Master. The key is stepping out of humanness and having the courage to break though our human notions. During this period, occasionally some fellow practitioners were arrested and sentenced to forced labor camps, and some materials production sites were destroyed. Nonetheless we were not daunted from distributing the materials. We were not intimidated by the evil's attempts at sabotage, but instead became more and more calm, wise and mature. With interference from the evil, we should do much better. There was interference that occurred several times while we distributed the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in the countryside. Two or three times fellow practitioners were reported by villagers who didn't know the truth about Falun Gong, and as a result they were illegally arrested. We immediately shared our understandings on the matters and searched within, and then began to rescue them. After sharing experiences, my fellow practitioners realized that it was not the responsibility of a few practitioners to distribute the Nine Commentaries in the countryside, but the mutual responsibility of all practitioners in our county. We found that the reason for the interference was that we acted individually and hadn't formed one body, and those fellow practitioners who didn't come out to distribute the Nine Commentaries should have been sending forth righteous thoughts for those practitioners who went out. After sharing these understandings, all fellow practitioners in our county formed one body. Some went to the countryside to distribute the materials, while others sent forth righteous thoughts for the whole night at home. Since then, the evil has not had a chance to take advantage of loopholes in our coordination.
After distributing the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party throughout our county, fellow practitioners thought that even though we had finished this part, we should keep distributing other materials to the countryside to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. Right after the video discs of performances by the Divine Performing Arts were published, we realized that we should distribute them to sentient beings all over the county. So we collected our money together and bought devices to duplicate the video discs, and then distributed them in the county. After people watched the performances by the Divine Performing Arts, they loved it and praised it a lot. We have created and distributed tens of thousands of video discs. We have continued distributing truth-clarification materials in the county over the past years, and the endeavors of fellow practitioners have had a very good effect. After the people in our county read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, fliers, booklets and watched the video discs, the poison of the evil party culture was eliminated from their minds. It was then very easy to persuade them to withdraw from the CCP and its related organizations. Some people came to Dafa practitioners to withdraw from the CCP and its related organizations after they read or watched the materials. We shared our understandings in a timely manner and realized that we could save more sentient beings if all fellow practitioners in the county made efforts together. After doing so, we persuaded more than one hundred thousand people in the county to quit the CCP and its related organizations. Some fellow practitioners became wiser and more intelligent, and one practitioner could persuade dozens of people to quit the CCP and its related organizations every day.
Our Dafa disciples should follow a righteous path and do the three things well according to Master's requirements. This way Dafa's righteous field can be reinforced and the evil factors will shrink until the persecution of Falun Gong ends in the near future. More and more fellow practitioners are now participating in distributing the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in the rural areas, and in coordinating in sending forth righteous thoughts. We have done the three things so diligently that the soles of many practitioners' shoes have worn out from walking all night to distribute the booklets. The practitioners who distributed the most booklets usually passed through eleven or twelve townships in one night. Practitioners who distributed an average amount of booklets passed through five or six townships in one night. Following the good examples set by our practitioners, more and more Falun Gong practitioners came out to validate Dafa. They took responsibility for distributing truth-clarification materials to the people in their township and around their township, and persuading them to quit the CCP and its related organizations. They realized that they are also Dafa disciples during the Fa-rectification period and they should validate Dafa with their righteous thoughts and actions, as well as genuinely cultivate themselves.
We also shared our experiences with Dafa disciples from other areas that surrounded our county. We exchanged what we had learned about good methods and good experiences in saving sentient beings in our areas. After they adopted some of our methods, they also distributed the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party throughout their areas. There were very few Dafa disciples in the two counties around our own county, and very few practitioners there had the courage to come out to distribute materials. Thus, they invited us to come to their counties to distribute the Nine Commentaries, the video discs of performances by the Divine Performing Arts, and other Falun Gong truth-clarification materials. After we shared our understandings on this matter with our fellow practitioners, we understood that all the Falun Gong practitioners around the world form one body, and therefore we shouldn't have the human notion of boundaries and differences that could isolate Dafa disciples from each other. As long as a method is good for saving sentient beings, we should implement it unconditionally. As a result, we traveled more than three hundred kilometers (185 mi.) and brought materials to distribute for them. The practitioners there didn't have the courage to come out to distribute materials, and we couldn't find a local person to lead the way for us, but this little bit of hardship didn't prevent us from doing the righteous thing. With Master's guidance, we distributed truth-clarification materials throughout several dozen townships within the two counties. During this process, practitioners in my county realized that we shouldn't complain about practitioners within the two counties who had the human attachment of fear, and were unable to come out and distribute materials themselves, and we also shouldn't do all the things that should be done by them. Instead, we should share our cultivation experiences with them and learn from each other so that they could truly understand the Fa and thus clearly understand their own missions and responsibilities. By studying the Fa well, they can come out to validate Dafa, since they themselves are the true hope of the sentient beings in their local areas, and they should be responsible for saving sentient beings. For us, we can help them do this, but we shouldn't implement everything for them. If we distributed all the truth-clarification materials to the sentient beings in their areas, we would accumulate the Mighty virtue. That would be their shame and regret. We should be with them, support them, make great efforts with them, and upgrade ourselves together with them. Together we can surely overcome all the hardship that they are facing and save more and more sentient beings in their areas.
My fellow practitioners realized that during the process of Fa-rectification, there must be some hardships for sure. However, Master taught us in Chapter Nine of Zhuan Falun,
"When it's difficult to endure, you can endure it. When it's impossible to do, you can do it."
We are Dafa disciples in the Fa-rectification period and no hardship can frighten us or block us from doing righteous things. We must truly negate all the interference and sabotage by the evil old forces. Using our diligent efforts, we should validate Dafa with our righteous thoughts and actions, and behave as genuine Dafa disciples so that the mighty power and the golden glory of Falun Dafa can shine throughout the entire cosmos.
