(Clearwisdom.net) (By a correspondent from Jilin Province) At 3:30 a.m. on September 15, 2009, officers from the Jilin City and Yongji County police departments, National Security Group of Yongji County, and the Yilaxi Town and Wanchang Town police stations colluded to arrest Falun Gong practitioners from the Chahelu Region of Jilin Province. The arrested practitioners included Mr. Yang Chenghua, his wife Ms. He Yanfeng and their 5-year-old daughter, Ms. Li Yingjie, Mr. Guan Fu and Ms. Zhu Hailing. Ms. He Yanfeng and her daughter were later released. Other practitioners were harassed by police to different extents and some were forced to stay away from their homes. Police also closely monitored practitioners' homes in police vehicles whether the practitioners were home or not. On the morning of September 15, all major roads in the Chaluhe Region were under the control of police.
On September 15, a group of police officers broke into Mr. Yang Chenghua's home when he was out working at the morning markets. His wife Ms. He Yanfeng and their 5-year-old daughter were home. Police ransacked the home and took two Falun Gong books. When they attempted to take the tape recorder belonging to their daughter, Ms. He firmly resisted. After ransacking their home, the police took Ms. He and her daughter to Chaluhe Police Station. Following this, the police went to the morning market to arrest Mr. Yang. When Mr. Yang had finished doing business and was about to go home, he was arrested and sent to the Kouqian Detention Center. Because their daughter would have been without parents, Ms. He was later released.
At the same time, another group of officers broke into and ransacked practitioner Ms. Li Yingjie's home. They confiscated many Falun Gong books and other Falun Gong materials. They arrested Ms. Li and sent her to the Kouqian Police Station. Since 1999, Ms. Li has been harassed and subjected to brainwashing tactics many times by police and the local government. Before she practiced Falun Gong she was a heart disease patient. Her face was dark and she had to keep medication in her pocket at all times. According to doctors she had no more than one year to live, but after taking up the practice of Falun Gong, the disease disappeared without any medical treatment.
Also on September 15, another group of police officers broke into and ransacked 60-year-old practitioner Mr. Guan Fu's home. They took two of his Falun Gong books, arrested him and sent him to Kouqian Police Station. Since 1999, Mr. Guan has been constantly harassed by the police and local government. Under great pressure, he gave up practicing Falun Gong. Later he was diagnosed with cancer and hospitalized twice. His disease was so serious that he knew all treatment was hopeless and thus waited for his end to come. His neighbor, seeing the situation he was in, suggested that he pick up Falun Gong again to heal his disease. So Mr. Guan resumed practicing Falun Gong. Not long after, he recovered from his cancer miraculously. He used to have many diseases and was so weak that he would be out of breath and have to sit and rest after walking only a few steps. After resuming his practice of Falun Gong, all of these illnesses went away without any medical treatment.
From 4:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on September 15, 2009, officers from the Yongji County Police Department and Chluhe Town Police Station simultaneously arrested Falun Gong practitioners in Chaluhe Town. Among those taken into custody was the family of Mr. Zhu Jingyun. The police arrested his four children. Three of his children have since been released, but his eldest daughter Ms. Zhu Hailing is still being held at the Kouqian Detention Center. Police also ransacked his home and his household electrical appliance shop in Chaluhe Town. From his shop, the police took two computers, a box of printer paper, 25,150 yuan in cash and five copies of the book Zhuan Falun. Mr. Zhu's wife and son were whipped by police.
Practitioner Mr. Wang Chen's home was also ransacked when he was not home. The police took a TV and a satellite antenna.
The police also went to practitioner Mr. Cui Ming's home but did not find anything that they were looking for.
Mr. Zhu Jingyun and Mr. Wang Chen have been forced into homelessness.
The police officers involved in the arrests include Zhang Zhiwei, Liu Guojun, Fan Shoujun, Liu Junpeng, Guo Laigang and Yuan Yuepeng from Chaluhe Town Police Department, and Zhang Liansheng from Wanchang Town Police Station. Bai Dunliang, former deputy chief of Chaluhe Town Police Department; Liu Jie, a police officer from the National Security Group of Yongji County; and officers Wang Biao and Zhang Lei were also involved in the arrests.
