Dr. Bornstein was greatly moved after seeing Shen Yun for the first time. "The performance was absolutely wonderful. When the two-stringed instrument [erhu] was played, I had tears in my eyes, because it was so exquisitely beautiful. The dancers were magnificent. I loved every dance. The Handkerchiefs dance was awe-inspiring, absolutely awe-inspiring. It was such a beautiful display of imagination. It takes you to another place," she said.

Dr. Bornstein shared how seeing the performances that touch upon the persecution of Falun Gong affected her on a personal level, "I learned something, definitely. Coming from a minority that was also repressed, being Jewish, I can understand the plight of people who are not allowed to practice their religion."

Dr. Bornstein received the ticket as a gift, and says she will be sure to return and bring her entire family when it returns to DC. "I had heard this was a wonderful performance, and I wanted to come to it. It's actually a birthday gift from my husband, a little early, and I will return with my mother-in-law, and brother-in-law, and husband as well next time they're in town, because it was so enjoyable. I highly recommend people to come to the show. What a wonderful, magical evening."

Ms. Shapiro summed her response to the show with one word: "Terrific!"

Dr. Bornstein couldn't agree more, "Wonderful, absolutely wonderful!"
