First of all, I want to thank Teacher for your merciful protection for all the Dafa disciples in mainland China. Great compassionate Teacher has given us seven cultivation experience sharing conferences on the Internet for the practitioners in Mainland China. We thank you for your compassionate salvation. We must take this great opportunity to use our "divine pens" to eliminate the evil and save sentient beings.
The divine pens deter those demons in human skin
Like sharpened blades, they extirpate rotten spirits
The old forces pay not the Fa its due respect
Wielding the brush you shall subdue the surge of madness

I started to cultivate Falun Dafa in April 1997. I was the second person in my area to obtain the Fa. I started to practice because I had an illness. After I started to cultivate in Dafa, my illnesses disappeared. My relatives and friends saw the benefits that Dafa had brought me and they also gradually obtained the Fa. Because I obtained the Fa a little earlier, practitioners came to my home to study the Fa and share their experiences, and so my home naturally became the Fa-study and group exercise site. Every morning we held a group practice to do the standing exercises, and during the evening we practiced the sitting meditation and then studied the Fa for two to three hours.
In the summer of 2000, I moved to the city in my region. In the spring of 2002, the practitioners at the local material production site asked me to pass out truth-clarifying materials. At that time, there was only one material site in our region. For safety reasons, they put the materials at certain locations, and I would go there to pick them up once every week. The evil was still very rampant at that time. Some practitioners were afraid of going out and passing out the materials. The practitioners I knew were also limited, so I had relatively more materials to pass out and nearly did that all out by myself.
I can still recall that in the beginning, when I gave the truth-clarifying materials to practitioners, they were afraid to take them so I started by giving them a card with Falun Dafa content and told them, "It is great to use these as bookmarks." One practitioner said, "OK. I will take one." I said, "How about taking more? Put one bookmark in each book. It is very convenient." Then they took more. Then I gave one of each kind of truth-clarifying material to each of them and said, "This is for you. Read it carefully and you will know what to do in the future." Soon, more and more practitioners came to pick up truth-clarifying materials.
In 2003, the main coordinator in my city moved to another city. Before she moved, she shared the situation of our city with me. She said, "Some of the former coordinators haven't stepped out yet. Some even deviated from Dafa. Some have also been persecuted. Right now I have to move. Our city really needs a practitioner who can take the responsibility and coordinate the local practitioners to keep up with the progress of Fa-rectification. You should consider taking on this responsibility."
I was shocked by how suddenly this responsibility came up. I thought to myself, "How could I coordinate, considering I don't even know all of the practitioners yet and I do not have such great abilities?" I felt helpless and lost. I wished that the current coordinator could stay and did not want her to leave.
When I went back home and read Zhuan Falun, my feeling of helplessness and of being lost were gone all of a sudden. How could I be helpless and lost? My greatest, dependable source is Teacher. I should take the Fa as Teacher. Teacher always looks after us. How can I be helpless? This was the wrong state of mind caused by my sentimentality toward the coordinator. With firm belief in Teacher and Dafa, I should do whatever the Fa-rectification needs me to do. Teacher taught us in Zhuan Falun,
"'Cultivation is up to you, gong is up to the master'--if you just have that wish you're all set. When it comes to who's actually doing it, it's the master. There's no way you could do that."
I repeatedly studied Teacher's Fa lecture, "Teaching the Fa at the Meeting with Asia-Pacific Students". Teacher emphasized the importance of coordination and cooperation in this Fa lecture. I told myself that I needed to follow Teacher's Fa and try my best to coordinate well. We are the Dafa disciples during the Fa-rectification period. Teacher also taught us,
"Cultivation and Fa-rectification are serious. Whether you are able to treasure this period of time is, in fact, a matter of whether you can be responsible to yourselves. This period of time will not last long, but it can forge the mighty virtue of magnificent Enlightened Beings, Buddhas, Daos, and Gods of different levels, and even Lords of different levels. It can also destroy overnight a cultivator who has reached a really high level but who has become less strict with himself." ("Fa-Rectification Period Dafa Disciples" from Essentials for Further Advancement II)
I made up my mind to be strict with myself, constantly following the Fa's standard; to cooperate well with fellow practitioners; and to coordinate well and support Fa-rectification in the region.
The following is part of my understanding during the past seven years as a coordinator.
1. Studying the Fa Well
After studying Teacher's Fa lectures, we realized that we must pay attention to studying the Fa well. We had too many lessons on just focusing on doing things and ignoring Fa-study. After we shared our experiences, we decided that we must establish the Fa-study groups.
Nearly all the practitioners in our city attended the group Fa-study. Every group had different numbers of practitioners. The practitioners who had to go to work started a night Fa-study group. We mainly studied Zhuan Falun and all of Teacher's Fa lectures after July 20, 1999. Every practitioner could also guarantee two hours' Fa-study time at home. Many practitioners recited Zhuan Falun, Hong Yin, and parts of the new articles many times. By studying the Fa systematically, most practitioners can understand the Fa based on the Fa. We also used some time to share our experiences and understandings. With Fa study as the foundation, we found our shortcomings during our cultivation and shared on how to improve ourselves, as well as keeping up with the progress of Fa-rectification. Every Monday and Tuesday, the coordinator of the Fa-study group targeted our current situation and picked one to two articles from Minghui Weekly for us to study together. We fully utilized Minghui Weekly and learned a lot from it. When we shared our understandings of looking inward, we also found our shortcomings and rectified them based on the Fa. We sincerely thank all the Minghui editors' hard work and great selection of articles.
2. Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts
First we repeatedly studied Teacher's articles regarding sending forth righteous thoughts in order to help every practitioners realize the importance of it. Meanwhile, we also understood that Teacher had us send righteous thoughts in order to train us how to use the divine power of the Fa to eliminate the evil. Every practitioner in our group paid attention to sending righteous thoughts.
Teacher said,
"For Dafa disciples as a whole, in the process of validating the Fa, when you work together in concert, the Fa power is great." ("Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference")
In 2005, the practitioners in our city shared their experiences and we unified our thinking and targets for sending righteous thoughts. Every practitioner sent righteous thoughts at the four global times every day. In 2004, the practitioners in our city also sent forth thoughts every night at 7:00, 8:00, and 9:00 p.m., to clear away all of the evil beings and factors in our local areas, to eliminate all the dark minions, rotten demons, all of the elements of the Communist evil specter, to completely disintegrate the old forces and evil in the three realms that are interfering with Fa-rectification and preventing sentient beings from being saved, as well as completely denying all the old forces' arrangements to end the persecution immediately. We silently recited Master's Fa-rectification verses. The practitioners who had enough time would send righteous thoughts every hour. We also usually sent righteous thoughts before group Fa study, every hour during the Fa study, as well as after the Fa study. So every practitioner had at least seven times to send righteous every day and usually can send righteous thoughts about ten times per day. Some practitioners would bring an alarm. When the alarm went off every hour, they would send righteous thoughts. If the situation allowed, the rest of us would sit in the meditation position and send righteous thoughts. When we are very busy, we can still send righteous thoughts in our minds and recite Master's Fa-rectification verses. Most practitioners can send righteous thoughts effectively.
3. Clarifying the Truth and Saving Sentient Beings
In order to clarify the truth well and save more sentient beings, we need enough truth-clarifying materials to pass out. Initially our city had only one material site. Later we established many home-based material sites. In order to clarify the truth, in 2006, our area produced truth-clarifying brochures to fit our local need. We have continued to do this through to now. We delivered the truth-clarifying materials selectively, such as "What is Falun Gong," "Falun Gong Teaches the Principles of Being a Good Person and Has a Good Effect," "Falun Dafa Spreading Around World," "Why the Evil CCP Persecutes Falun Gong," "Tiananmen Square Self-immolation Incident Staged and Directed by the CCP," "Why Heaven Wants to Eliminate the CCP," "Why Falun Gong Practitioners Clarify the Truth and Persuade You to Quit the CCP" and so on.
When we passed out the truth-clarifying materials, each of us covered an area and we tried not to miss even one home. We repeatedly passed out the materials. Some practitioners in the countryside covered their local areas. For the areas which did not have practitioners, the practitioners from the city regularly passed out materials there. Some practitioners have cars. They drove seven to eight people to a place and covered six to seven village in one night. Some took a taxi to go, some rode motorcycles, and some even rode bicycles. When some practitioners went to their relatives' homes in the countryside, they also usually passed out the materials for the villages nearby. By the end of 2006, we passed out materials at least once to all the towns and villages in our region.
Before we passed out the truth-clarifying materials, we would first send righteous thoughts. If we went together to pass out the materials, we notified the practitioners who were staying at home to send righteous thoughts every hour until the practitioners returned safely. We asked Teacher to strengthen the practitioners to avoid any interference and eliminate any evil wherever they went, and to strengthen all of the materials in order to have the maximum effect of saving sentient beings. We demanded all the beings and factors involved to cooperate with Dafa disciples' helping Teacher to rectify the Fa. After practitioners sent righteous thoughts, they started to pass out the materials. The practitioners' minds were calm and they usually finished passing out the materials smoothly.
When we passed out the materials, we usually chose a good place to put them. Once, a practitioner put one of the truth-clarification materials on a farmer's window. Just as he finished and was ready to leave, the people came outside and asked what he was doing while taking on a cell phone. The practitioner did not panic. He told him, "I am delivering Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials to you and letting you know the key to keeping safe. Take a look at the material and you will know." The person then said, "OK. That's good. You can go." Things like this occasionally happened. Practitioners can always use their righteous thoughts to prevent others from doing evil things.
Once a few practitioners took a taxi to a village 15 miles away to pass out truth-clarifying materials. It was at night and very dark. I was just about to put a copy of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party behind a door. The door suddenly opened and a man walked out. He asked me what I was doing. I was not afraid at all and told him with a smile, "I want to go to the restroom." He immediately told me where the restroom was and then left. It was like nothing happened and I kept passing out the materials.
When thinking about it afterward, I could feel the magnificence of Dafa. I have been timid since childhood. Before I started to cultivate in Dafa, I was afraid to stay at home alone, even if it wasn't dark outside yet. I was also afraid of going out after dark. But why was I now able to laugh about the so-called scary thing that just happened to me? I understand that everything our Dafa disciples have is bestowed on us by Teacher.
We strictly ensured the quality of the truth-clarifying materials that we sent out and required that all the materials be downloaded from the Minghui website (except for a few truth-clarifying DVDs meant for the everyday people with different attachments). The content of the DVDs closely followed the progress of Fa-rectification. This year we have already passed out close to 10,000 Shen Yun DVDs, most of which we passed out face to face. All of the truth-clarifying materials were put in a self-sealed envelope. Some of them were put inside beautiful plastic bags showing a fortune symbol and a flower. Each piece was finely-made and each practitioner used his/her expertise and heart to produce the materials in order to save sentient beings.
When the practitioners clarified the truth and persuaded people to quit the CCP face to face, they tried not to miss any opportunities. If they missed one, they immediately looked inward and did it better the next time. Most of the practitioners used the morning to study the Fa. They also spent some time to share their truth-clarifying experience from the previous day, summarizing their positive experiences and finding their shortcomings. In the afternoon, nearly all of the practitioners went out to clarify the truth face-to-face. A 60-year-old practitioner was illiterate, but now when she reads Dafa books, to people's surprise, she can do it very well. Every day she went out to clarify the truth and persuade people to quit CCP. She carried the truth-clarifying materials with her and gave each person specific materials targeting his/her attachments after clarifying the truth to them. She gave aliases to people who agreed to quit the CCP. Usually the person was very happy and said, "Where did you graduate? You are really good at giving names." She said, "I graduated from 'Falun Dafa' school." When some people who she persuaded to quit the CCP met her the next time, they told her happily, "Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!"
There are two more practitioners I would like to mention. One is 75 years old and the other is 70. The first time they went to clarify the truth face-to-face, they talked to nine people, but only one agreed to quit the CCP. They told me this when they came back. I told them, "The first time, you get familiar with it. The second time, you will be fluent at clarifying the truth. The more you can go out and clarify the truth, the better you will do. 'Cultivation is up to you, gong is up to the master.' (Zhuan Falun) Also, you persuaded one person to quit CCP. This is not just simply one person. This is a cosmos and there are countless sentient beings inside." They both smiled and understood the importance of saving people. Some practitioners can save dozens of people every day when clarifying the truth. Some practitioners can save a few, but no matter how many people they save, they always remind each other not to have any attachment to zealotry when saving many people and not becoming discouraged when not saving as many people. Dafa disciples just do what Dafa disciples are supposed to do.
During the past year, I discovered that the people we saved have a great respect toward practitioners. I had persuaded a few fellow villagers, relatives, and friends to quit the CCP, and when I met them again, they had this special respect and gratitude toward me. Their words, the looks in their eyes, and their smiles revealed the gratitude of their clear sides to the Dafa practitioners who saved them. For example, I persuaded a fellow villager to quit the CCP. She agreed and told me, "I believe what you just said. Please help me to withdraw from the CCP." Then she left. After more than half a year, we met again on the street. This time she looked totally different than before. She stood in front of me with joy from her heart. After I said goodbye, I kept walking for a while and then looked back. I saw that she was still standing there looking at me with gratitude. Teacher said,
"They will truly regard you as their Lord, their King, and have boundless reverence for you, because you saved them, you sacrificed for them, and you gave them everything they have." ("Touring North America to Teach the Fa")
The material site in our city can produce many kinds of truth-clarifying materials. It not only meets the local requirement, but can also provide materials to the practitioners in nearby counties. The video programs we provide to everyday people to clarify the truth included Shen Yun, "Traveling Between Heaven and Earth," Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, "We Tell the Future," "The Truth About Falun Gong," "Nine Years of Cultivation and Tribulations," "Great Tide of Withdrawing from CCP," "The Chinese Medicine Doctor's Special Experience," and many others. We also sent out truth-clarification movies, "Good and Evil," "False Fire," "Shock," and "Sandstorm" to everyday people to watch. All of these DVDs discuss Falun Dafa from different aspects and have had a great effect on helping people to learn the truth. The DVD "Leaving Politics and Entering Cultivation" that "Minghui's Shi Fang" produced had even more impact. It helped many people who thought that Falun Gong was involved in politics understand the truth while enabling more people to know that Falun Gong teaches people to be good and has a good effect. It also woke up some former practitioners.
The practitioners in our area took the Fa as Teacher and strictly controlled the content of the truth-clarifying materials and the materials for Dafa practitioners to read. In April 2007, the novel The Cosmos's Calamity, which created a stir among practitioners, was introduced to our region from other areas. Some practitioners thought this novel would help practitioners' cultivation and wanted the material site I was coordinating to produce some for practitioners to read. I told them to wait and see. I looked at the Minghui website and found that it was not published by the Minghui website. This novel was long and hadn't finished yet and I had the thought that we could not publish the book like this. First it would waste our practitioners' Fa-study time. Secondly it would give rise to practitioners' attachments. At this very precious moment, nothing should take away practitioners' time for studying the Fa and saving sentient beings. Two days later, two other practitioners brought the novel and they also wanted to produce some for practitioners to read. I was very anxious at that moment but I immediately thought of Teacher's words,
"While working, your tone of voice, your kindheartedness, and your reasoning can change a person's heart." ("Clearheadedness" from Essentials for Further Advancement)
With the strengthening of the Fa, I turned my anxiety to a smile. I shared my understanding that this novel was based on the author's understandings at his level of cultivation and that the author also injected some things of his own. Teacher told us in Zhuan Falun that 'the Law manifests in different forms at different levels.' What the author saw at his level is far away from the real home that Teacher is going to bring us back to." They listened quietly. I continued, "As Teacher described the poem 'Falun World',
'Words cannot describe its beauty and wonder,
Its every hue and color, so glorious, dazzle the eye;
Fortune and longevity fill this Buddhist Holy Land,
At a higher place sits the Falun World.' ("Falun World" from Hong Yin)
"Please remember Teacher's words and do not let anything interfere with our time to study the Fa and save sentient beings. Nothing is as good as Teacher and the Fa. We must follow Teacher and go back to our real home."
After we shared our understandings based on the Fa, this disturbance of "spreading the novel" was calmed down. Soon after that, Teacher's new article, "On the Novel The Cosmos's Calamity" was published. After we studied the article, we were all glad that we did not produce this book. We must study the Fa well and then we will know what to do based on the Fa when something happens.
4. Finding Former Practitioners
In order to find former practitioners, we did a lot of work. Two former coordinators in our city, who worked at the government, stopped cultivation after July 20, 1999, due to the pressure. The practitioners who were familiar with one of the practitioners went to his home and shared his experiences with him many times. Some shared their understandings based on the Fa. Some talked about the changes in his health condition. Because the former practitioner did not study the Fa or practice the exercises anymore, his body went back to the state of everyday people. His former illnesses returned and medical treatment did not work. Although the practitioners tried to persuade him many times, he still told them, "Please do not waste your time. You go ahead and practice. I've stopped practicing for many years." We shared this experience with each other and realized that the thing that bothered him was that he had not done anything for many years, and was worried that he couldn't keep up and that Teacher would not consider him a Dafa disciple. After we found his attachment, we sent forth righteous thoughts, thinking that we must wake him up. One practitioner said, "All the practitioners he knew already went to see him and it looks like we cannot wake him up. Now it all depends on you." I felt that it would be difficult and thought, "I don't even know what he looks like. I only heard from practitioners that he works at the government, and that he was proud of himself and was not very open to others' suggestions. Can I really wake him up?" But just as these thoughts came out, I immediately denied them because they were not a Dafa disciple's righteous thoughts. Dafa disciples' righteous thoughts are powerful and can do anything. I was not familiar with him and I knew that I might not have the capability to wake him up, but he was Teacher's disciple after all. Teacher knows him and can do anything. I just went to his place and talked to him. It is Teacher who could really save him.
First I sent forth righteous thoughts to clear out all of the dark minions, rotten demons, and evil communist specters in his dimensions that were preventing him from coming back to the Fa. I also strengthened his clear side to take control and come back to Dafa and Teacher, and to fulfill his prehistoric vow. After I sent forth righteous thoughts for a few days, I asked a practitioner who was familiar with him to take me to his home.
After the practitioner's introduction, we quickly got to know each other. I took the chance to sent forth righteous thoughts in close proximity to eliminate any interference. I also asked Teacher to strengthen me to help wake him up. I thought, "I have to talk to him with a merciful and peaceful mind and let him see the uniqueness of Falun Dafa practitioners in the Fa-rectification period." I talked to him first, "It is really nice to meet you today. As soon as I saw you today, I felt like we have met before. It is Dafa that brings us together." He immediately smiled and said, 'Yes." I continued, "We have a special predestined relationship. Maybe we rode the same cloud coming down to the human world. Today I brought Teacher's will to visit you. We are all Teacher's relatives. Teacher told us so. We must be and must acknowledge that." He lowered his head and smiled, "I really admire you. I haven't cultivated for a long time. Am I still able to cultivate in the Fa?" I immediately said, "Yes, you can do it. If you cannot do it, why has Teacher sent us here to help you? Teacher always thinks of the practitioners who haven't stepped out yet. Teacher does not want to leave behind a single being who has obtained the Fa." He smiled and said, "Great, I still have two copies of Zhuan Falun. I will start to study the Fa tomorrow."
Two days later, I visited him again. He was very excited and told me, "This time I must cultivate until the end. Nobody can interfere with me." In order to help him keep up with the progress of Fa-rectification, I gradually gave him Teacher's Fa lectures after July 20, 1999, based on his acceptance level and his xinxing status. For the practitioners who came back to the Fa, we must have patience and should not rush them. If we gave them all of the new articles at once, they would not accept it and it would have a negative impact.
After a month, he called me and asked me to come to his home. I immediately sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate any evil factors that were preventing him from coming back to the Fa, and then went to his home. He asked me to clean up the evil party's books and other books that were not very good. I was glad to do it together with him. Some books that I thought he should not keep, he said he still wanted to keep for a while. Although I sent forth righteous thoughts to thoroughly eliminate the evil, I also needed to consider his xinxing and level of acceptance. I knew I shouldn't rush him, so I respected his opinion. Since that time we did not completely eliminate it, I kept sending forth righteous thoughts when I went back home, and I asked Teacher to strengthen him to completely eliminate any CCP-related stuff at home.
Half a month later, he asked me again to help him get rid of his books. He told me, "Regarding the books we left last time, I still feel that some of them should be taken away. This time I will listen to you and will keep whatever you say to keep and get rid of the rest." After we finished getting rid of the books, he smiled and told me, "Now I've gotten rid of all the evil stuff and want to invite Master back. I hope you can bring Master's photo for me so that I can put it up here." I was happy for him and agreed. The next day, I brought one of Teacher's photos for him. He used a prepared photo frame to mount Teacher's photo and respectfully put the photo in the most prominent position.
Based on his situation, I felt he could accept Minghui Weekly and truth-clarifying materials. In order to let him catch up with the progress of Fa-rectification, every week I sent him Minghui Weekly and truth-clarifying materials and shared experiences with him. He studied Teacher's Fa lectures after July 20, 1999 every day and also transcribed Zhuan Falun every day. Right now he has already transcribed Zhuan Falun twice. He also sends righteous thoughts at the four global times every day, as well as the local sending righteous thoughts at 7:00, 8:00, and 9:00 p.m.. He has attended the global morning exercises every day without interruption. With Teacher's help, his illnesses all soon disappeared. Previously he was crippled, but now he walks like a young man, even though he is already over 70. He then started to persuade his relatives and friends to quit the CCP and its related organizations. Because he worked for the evil CCP for many years, he knew a lot about the evil of the CCP. In addition, he read Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, so he is able to clarify the truth very effectively. He helped quite a few people that he knew to quit the CCP. He also wrote letters to his relatives and friends who lived far away to help persuade them to quit the CCP. Right now he is a true Falun Dafa disciple.
Another former coordinator also works for the local government. He did not step out because of fear. He also read Teacher's Fa lectures when practitioners sent them to him, but he only did one out of the three things that Teacher has asked us to do, which was studying the Fa. It seemed like sending forth righteous thoughts and saving sentient had nothing to do with him. The practitioners frequently found chances to share experiences with him, but it did not help. This time when we sent the DVD "Leaving Politics and Entering Cultivation" to him, he quickly understood. His mind was opened and he realized that his understanding before was wrong. He wrote a solemn declaration and currently does the three things Teacher asks of practitioners. He also sent the same DVD to other former practitioners who were in a similar situation. Currently he works on helping wake up former practitioners. These two practitioners now act as real Falun Dafa practitioners during the Fa-rectification period and are fulfilling their prehistoric vows.
Teacher told us,
"If a certain region is doing well, then it's definitely something like this: the coordinators just say that something needs to be done, and Dafa disciples, of their own initiative, coordinate with each other and overcome the challenges together, fully utilizing Dafa disciples' wisdom, to get it done well and in a more ideal way. Even when the coordinators don't think things through too well or have even overlooked some things, the Dafa disciples will perfect it along the way--and that is your mighty-virtue." The Dafa practitioners in our region are fully engaging themselves and taking the initiative to do the things that Dafa disciples are supposed to do. We have really achieved, "together there's a form, and separated there are particles." ("Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference")
When I recall the past ten-plus years of cultivation practice, I have experienced both joy and pain. My joy is that I am so fortunate to have had the chance to be born in this special historic period, and be able to assimilate to Dafa and be part of the great epoch that can create great beings. My pain is that what I have done is still not enough. I often talk with practitioners about the well-known cultivation story in "Journey to the West". During the cultivation process, Monkey King's teacher, the monk, overcame 81 tribulations with the Monkey King's protection. In the end, the monk achieved consummation, but we are in the opposite position. Teacher protects us all of the time, but with Teacher's protection and help, how well have we done? Until now, in our region there are still illegally detained practitioners who haven't been rescued yet. Some former practitioners haven't come back to the Fa yet. Some practitioners haven't stepped out yet. Some people's states still need urgent attention.
Teacher taught us,
"Now is the final moment that concludes arrangements that are eons old. History's progression to this point today has not been easy, fraught as it's been with hardship and ups and downs. From ancient times till today, the multitude of gods have been watching and closely following this affair, and are paying particular attention at this final phase. They watch carefully every action and thought of Dafa disciples." ("Fa Teaching at the 2008 New York Conference")
