(Clearwisdom.net) Shen Yun Performing Arts performed for the first time in Dallas on February 5-6, 2010. The New York-based company's highly-anticipated return to Texas was welcomed by a number of proclamations and congratulatory letters from all levels of Texas federal, state, and city officials, who are pleased their area will host the show.

Both of the Texas senators sent greetings to the company. U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison wrote that she, "...commends the performers of the 2010 Shen Yun Performing Arts for contributing to efforts to familiarize the Western World with traditional Chinese values," and extended best wishes to all the people attending the show in Dallas.

U.S. Senator John Cornyn offered his "...best wishes for a successful event" in his welcome letter to Shen Yun, and said that the company's "...efforts to contribute to the cultural advancement of the citizens of Dallas serve as an example for the State of Texas."

Shen Yun was also praised by Congressmen Kenney Marchant and Jeb Hensarling. "On behalf of the people of Texas' 24th Congressional district I am honored to recognize the Shen Yun Performing Arts Day for its cultural influence and outstanding entertainment," the Honorable Kenny Marchant wrote in his proclamation letter.

Commending Shen Yun and the local organizers for bringing the rich cultural show to Dallas, the Texas Senate adopted a proclamation "as an expression of esteem" for Shen Yun Performing Arts.

The Texas House of Representatives also offered a congratulatory statement and thanked Shen Yun "...for their representation of the true cultural heritage of traditional China and for bringing this rich display of culture and arts to the Dallas Metroplex."

Also welcoming Shen Yun to Dallas were City of Dallas councilmembers Angela Hunt, Ann Margolin, Tennel Atkins, Vonciel Jones Hill, and Steve Salazar.

"On behalf of the Dallas City Council, we sincerely congratulate Shen Yun Performing Arts for your astonishing performances and well deserved achievements," councilmember Tennell Atkins wrote.

"Our city is privileged to have the opportunity to experience your internationally-renowned Chinese music and dance," wrote councilmember Angela Hunt.

Shen Yun Performing Arts also received proclamations and congratulatory statements from the mayors of a number of Texas cities and towns, including the Town of Addison, City of Allen, City of Arlington, City of Bedford, Town of Carrollton, City of Euless, City of Frisco, City of Garland, City of Hurst, City of Mckinney, City of North Richland Hills, City of Plano, and the City of Richardson.

Shen Yun will perform its first show in Dallas on Friday February 5 at the Music Hall at Fair Park, at 7:30 p.m., and will be performing two more shows on Saturday February 6.
