(Clearwisdom.net) Amidst enthusiastic applause, Shen Yun Performing Arts performed its last show at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium on Thursday, April 1.

Musician: 'Just Superb'

The show was highly appreciated by country and western recording artist Mary Resek who was also among the audience on Thursday night.

"It is fantastic, I love it," said Ms. Resek. "All the colours and the coordination of the colours and the choreography, it is just great ... I am really enjoying it!"

She explained that she was impressed by how the performers "can get into the emotion of the songs and dance that they are doing."

"The voices are just superb, and seeing the artists actually create and put that emotion out there and connect with the audience. It is great!"

The New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts features world-class vocalists, including sopranos Chia-ning Hsu and Haolan Geng and tenor Guan Guimin.

Ms. Resek concluded by saying that she would recommend the world-renowned show to others. "Very, very professional, very high end, and I am very impressed. I highly recommend it to anyone!"

Coming from a musical family, Ms. Resek has a strong background in music and has been performing from an early age. She released her first album Two in the Saddle in 2008.

Professional Painter: 'Really Beautiful!'

Professional painter Marija Petricevic was also among the highly appreciative audience and was full of praise for the masterfully coordinated visual beauty in the Shen Yun Performing Arts show.

"Costumes, especially the colours, and the music, it's really beautiful," said Ms. Petricevic, an award-winning artist and instructor in pastels, oil, charcoal, and watercolour whose paintings have been featured in numerous publications.

She is also a signature and founding member of the Canadian Institute of Portrait Artists (CIPA) and a signature status Associate member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (AFCA).

Ms. Petricevic especially enjoyed "the combination of the colours . . . It makes me feel really happy."

"Mostly, I enjoyed the colours, and the combination of the blues and yellows. Blue colour, yellow, the complementary colours, how they complement each other, it's beautiful," she said.

Inspired by the apparel of each dynasty, region, and ethnicity throughout the history and vast land of China, the originally designed and meticulously tailored costumes are an integral part of every dance and song.

"The costumes . . . always coordinate the colours with the background and I think it really makes me feel I'm there [in China]," Ms. Petricevic said.

She said she enjoyed the softness of the music and the female dancers' performances. "It's so gentle," Ms. Petricevic said.

Overall, "I just enjoy the music and the dance and the costumes," she noted.

"It is beautiful, wonderful, I am very happy that I came here, and I'm sure next time that if there's another performance, I would come again."
