Mr. Gu Huaibing and Six Other Practitioners from Sichuan Province Sentenced to Illegal Prison Terms (Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net) The Wuhou District Court in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, tried seven practitioners on August 26, 2011. Mr. Gu Huaibing was sentenced to seven years in prison; Mr. Zhou Yaping, two years and four months; Mr. Liao Jianfu, two and a half years; Mr. Zhao Haiping, Mr. Wang Hongbo, Mr. Wang Jianguo, and Ms. Li Xiaoyan were sentenced to three years in prison. The seven practitioners stated that practicing Falun Gong is not a crime. They declared their intention to appeal to a higher court.
Mr. Qin Yueming Died as a Result of Torture, Jiamusi Prison Officials Shirk Responsibility
(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Qin Mingyue from the Jinshantun District, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, died in Jiamusi Prison as a result of torture on February 26, 2011. His family sued Jiamusi Prison officials and sought compensation.
Falun Gong Practitioners Mr. Chen Xiaoming and Mr. Fan Qinbing from Tianshui City, Gansu Province Faced Police Brutalities during Interrogation
(Clearwisdom.net) On June 2, 2011, Mr. Chen Xiaoming and Mr. Fan Qingbin, two Falun Gong practitioners from Maiji District, Tianshui City, Gansu Province, were arrested by the police from the Domestic Security Division of Maiji Police Sub-Bureau. Chief Feng Jitang subjected them to brutal beatings during the police interrogation. Mr. Chen Xiaoming nearly died from the police brutality. He survived, but remains bedridden to this day. Officer Feng scheduled a trial against Mr. Chen for September 15, 2011.
