(Minghui.org) Ms. Li Yaping, 38, lives in Tangshan, Hebei Province. In May 2011, she was transferred to the Hebei Women's Forced Labor Camp from the Tangshan Forced Labor Camp. When she first arrived at the camp, she was healthy. Because she did not give up her belief in the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, the guards handcuffed her for three days and confined her in a cell for almost two months. Ms. Li refused to do slave labor, so she was forced to stand for 20 days. At the beginning, the guards made her stand in the workshop, then in the bathroom, and then the confined cell. Guards Zang Zhiying and Hou Junmei ordered collaborator Zhang Ning to beat Ms. Li.

It was very hot in August. The walls of the cell were covered in thick mold. There was no window and the air didn't circulate. Ms. Li was not allowed to drink water, use the bathroom, or sleep. She was forced to stand more than 20 hours per day. As a result, she felt tightness in her chest, her back ached, and her legs swelled. She could not urinate. She felt numb all over and weak. She therefore had difficulty walking.

On the night of December 5, 2011, Ms. Li reported that she felt unwell to guard Hou Junmei and pointed out that they were violating her human rights by treating her like that. However, this did not produce good results. When she returned to her cell, collaborators Zong Zhirong, Li Chunxi, and Zhao Nana closed the door, turned off the lights, and brutally beat her. As a result, Ms. Li's abdomen ached. She trembled all over and was delirious. Guards Wu Yuna, Gu Hongye and Fan Miaolu also participated in these acts of torture.

Ms. Li Yaping was supposed to be released on November 27, 2011, but the Hebei Women's Forced Labor Camp is still detaining and abusing her.
