(Minghui.org) We know that watching Shen Yun can save lives. Then, what can I do to help people see the value of Shen Yun and benefit from it? To achieve this, I must study the Fa well, purify myself and strengthen my righteous thoughts. Before going out to distribute copies of the Shen Yun performance VCDs, I always pay respect to Teacher's photo and silently say, “How are you compassionate Teacher? Please strengthen my righteous thoughts and wisdom, and arrange for me to meet people with karmic relationships.” When I am out distributing VCDs, I continuously send righteous thoughts.
It is important that the Shen Yun performance VCD be of high quality and beautifully packaged. When I recommend people to watch Shen Yun, I only say a few words and focus on important points about the show. I also remember to be compassionate and polite. People will be able to understand and appreciate the meaning and beauty of Shen Yun after they watch it.
I've learned to avoid exaggerating about the show when recommending that people watch it. One day, I came across a middle-aged couple. While I was talking, I only focused on using exaggerated words to describe the show. The lady, holding the VCD in her hand, looked at me suspiciously and said, “Oh, really?” I was so embarrassed by her simple reply. Since then, I just focus on the main points and say a few words. Most of the time, people will take the VCD. In taking this approach, I can save some time and also increase the efficiency of distributing the VCDs.
Of course, there are some people who would like to know more about Shen Yun, so I take the opportunity to explain more to them based on their understanding. I tell them, “Shen Yun is based on the 5,000 years of Chinese civilization and is different from all other Chinese variety shows. Some of the dance pieces are about classic historical stories or historical figures. The show will purify your heart and make you feel good. In addition, the backdrops are so poetic and picturesque that it will remind you of where you may have lived before.” People will usually listen attentively as I describe the show in this way. At that moment, I feel the interaction with people I meet is sacred.
Some people have asked, “Why don't you ask for money for the VCDs?” I smile at them and reply, “Think about it, it's too precious and can't be measured with money. If you and your family members watch this show and learn about the existence of Gods, the real purpose of life, how to distinguish good from evil and assimilate to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, your life, including those of your family members will be safe. How much do you think that's worth? Could it be measured with money? As we know, human morality and conscience is priceless, compassion is priceless, and human life is priceless.” After hearing this, people sincerely say, “Great, really great!”
Others have asked me, “Is this related to Falun Gong?” I kindly tell them, “Things of Falun Gong are the best in the world. You should take this opportunity to understand Falun Gong if you didn't understand it before. For thousands of years, maybe you have been waiting for this karmic relationship today.”
When I come across a group of people, I give each person a VCD and tell them to treasure it. I also tell them not to miss the opportunity to watch it, because if they do, then they are throwing away their good fortune. Furthermore, if they pass it around to their friends and relatives, they will be blessed for doing a good deed.
Shen Yun is unparalleled in the world. The Chinese Communist Party has dispatched its agents to try to copy the show, but to no avail. Even if they were able to learn how to create the backdrops like Shen Yun, they could still not create its realm. They could learn its shape, but not its temperament; they could learn its appearance, but not its connotation; they could learn some of it, but not everything, unless Shen Yun Performing Arts is allowed to perform in mainland China.
In the process of spreading Shen Yun in mainland China, practitioners have learned to focus on the quality of the show.
