(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in 11 provinces. In this report, 16 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 56 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Xiyun Arrested
Ms. Li Xiyun and her sister-in-law, Ms. Hu Xiuhua, from Weibei Farm in Weifang, went to the Party Committee of Weibei Farm and asked for Ms. Li Xiyun's salary, which has been suspended for more than ten years. They were then taken away. They are being detained in the Weifang Detention Center.
2. [Chifeng, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Zhai Cuixia and Ms. Wang Fenghuan Arrested
On April 13, 2012, Ms. Zhai Cuixia and Ms. Wang Fenghuan from Bajia Village, Yuanbaoshan District, Chifeng, were reported to police while talking to people about Falun Gong. They were taken away by officers from the Yuanbaoshan Police Station and their homes were ransacked.

3. [Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhan Min Persecuted
Ms. Zhan Min is an outstanding teacher at the Normal College in Xinjin County, Sichuan Province. She was taken away by officers from the Fangcaojie Police Station while she talked to people about Falun Gong in a residential area in Chengdu on March 16, 2012. Her home was also ransacked. She is being detained in the Chengdu Detention Center where she has been on a hunger strike. Ms. Zhan once fainted and was sent to the Chengdu Third Hospital for emergency treatment. She was later given an intravenous fluid in the clinic in the detention center. She has been transferred back to the cell but she is still very weak.
4. [Zhongjiang County, Sichuan Province] Ms. He Deyi, Ms. Xie Nengfang, and Ms. Jiang Zhiqiong Detained
Ms. He Deyi, Ms. Xie Nengfang, and Ms. Jiang Zhiqiong from Zhongjiang, were taken away by officers from the Zhongjiang 610 Office while they were talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of April 9, 2012, and their homes were also ransacked. They were sent to the Zhongjiang Detention Center on that afternoon.
5. [Xiong County, Hebei Province] Details about the Arrest of Ms. Liu Ruifang
On the morning of April 13, 2012, Ms. Liu Ruifang, 61, from Jiazhuang Village, Xiong County, was taken away by Domestic Security officers who followed her while she was talking to people about Falun Gong at a farmer's market. She was sent to the Xiong County Police Department. They intended to transfer her to the Baoding Detention Center. When they did a physical examination on her at the Xiong County Hospital, her condition was very poor, with a blood pressure of 170/120. At 5:00 p.m., the police still sent her to the Baoding Detention Center but she did not pass their physical examination at the detention center. Ms. Liu was sent home after her family was extorted out of 5000 yuan.
Early on July 27, 2011, Ms. Liu Ruifang was taken away while talking to people about Falun Gong. That afternoon, they also intended to send her to the Baoding Detention Center. The detention center refused to accept her because of her physical condition. Her family was also extorted 10,000 yuan at that time.

8. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Falin and Other Practitioners Arrested
Officers from the Hanting Domestic Security Division and the Shuangyang Police Station in Weifang, have recently arrested many Falun Gong practitioners. On April 11, 2012, they took away Mr. Wang Falin from Sunjia Village, Gaoli Town, Hanting District. On April 13, 2012, Mr. Yu Lejin was arrested. He has since been released. On April 14, 2012, Ms. Sun Zhaoqin was arrested. Mr. Wang and Ms. Sun's whereabouts are currently unknown.
9. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Yue, Ms. Zhang Fan and Ms. Sun Yufeng Arrested
On the morning of April 14, 2012, Ms. Li Yue, Ms. Zhang Fan, and Ms. Sun Yufeng were reported to police while they were distributing Shen Yun DVDs at Tuchengzi, Lushun. They were taken away by Cai Junyi from the local Tuchengzi Police Station. The police found about ten DVDs in Zhang Fan's car and confiscated two laptops from Zhang Fan's home in the afternoon. Ms. Li Yue and Ms. Zhang Fan are being detained in the Dalian Drug Rehabilitation Center. Ms. Sun Yufeng has been released.

10. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhai Hui and Other Practitioners Arrested
Early on the morning of April 15, 2012, Mr. Zhang Zhong, Ms. Chen Yufeng, Ms. Liu Huayu, and Ms. Liang Qizhen were taken to the Dadongmen Police Station by seven or eight police officers. Their homes were also ransacked.
That same morning, Mr. Zhai Hui and Ms. Yao Hong's homes were watched by several people. Mr. Zhai Hui was taken away when he went downstairs. His whereabouts are unknown and plainclothes police are still watching his home.
11. [Wuchang, Heilongjiang] Ms. Shen Xiuli Arrested
On the night of April 14, 2012, Ms. Shen Xiuli was taken away by Wuchang police on her way home. She is being detained in the Wuchang Detention Center.
12. [Fushun, Liaoning Province] Ms. Luo Xiujie and Other Practitioners Arrested
Many Fushun Falun Gong practitioners were arrested on April 15, 2012, including Ms. Liu Xiujie, Ms. Liu Xiulie, Mr. Shang Xiaoguang, Mr. Zhang Bo, etc.
13. [Tonghua, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Baozhen Arrested
Ms. Liu Baozhen was taken away by officers from the Longquan Police Station on the night of April 14, 2012. Two officers from the Longquan Police Station brought Ms. Liu Baozhen's daughter, who is not a practitioner, to Ms. Liu's home to ransack it. They did not find anything. Ms. Liu Baozhen is being detained at the Changliu Detention Center in Tonghua.

Elderly Ms. Chen Guimei from Taiping Village, Binhai Developing District, Weifan, was taken away from her home on the night of March 30, 2012. She is being detained in the Shouguang Detention Center.

Ms. Cao Baohua, about 60 years old, from Dongcheng District, was taken to the Jiaodaokou Police Station in Dongcheng District when she was distributing Falun Gong materials on April 13, 2012. She has been transferred to a detention center.

16. [Yushu, Jilin Province] Mr. Guo Fengxue Has Gallstones but the Prison Refuses to Release Him
Mr. Guo Fengxue was sentenced to three and a half years in prison by the Yushu Court in October 2011. On October 31, 2011, he suddenly felt pain in his lower abdomen while at the Yushu Detention Center. He was sent to the Yushu Hospital for emergency treatment. On the morning of November 1, 2011, Mr. Guo was still transferred to the Shilingzi Prison in Siping. By April 8, 2012, Mr. Guo was emaciated and weak. He was hospitalized for ten days in the prison hospital. He was diagnosed as having gallstones. Mr. Guo Fengxue strongly requested to be released on bail for medical treatment, however the prison refused to release him.
17. [Panjin, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Wanxiang and Ms. Liu Yulan Arrested
On the morning of April 15, 2012, Mr. Liu Wanxiang and his wife Ms. Liu Yulan from Dawa County, Panjin, as well as Mr. Ji Zhenxu and his wife Ms. Zhang Kun, were arrested by officers from the Panjin Domestic Security Division. At the same time, another unnamed Falun Gong practitioner and Mr. Liu Wanxiang's daughter and son-in-law were also taken away. Mr. Liu's daughter and son-in-law are not practitioners and they have been released.
18. [Guiyang, Guizhou Province] More than Ten Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested
On the night of April 12, 2012, more than ten Falun Gong practitioners from Baiyun, Yunyan, and Nanming Districts, were taken away from their homes or apartments by police officers, including Mr. Wang Tianyin, Mr. Lao Bige, Ms. Qi Qi, Mr. Da Shan, Mr. Zheng Gang, Ms. Xing, Ms. Liu Jie, Mr. Zhao Peng, Mr. Shi Fengling, etc.

24. [Qingdao, Shandong Province] The Jiaoxi Police Station Harassed Many Falun Gong Practitioners Recently
On April 11, 2012, Mr. Liu Dechun was arrested by officers from the Jiaoxi Police Station in Jiaozhou. He was sent to the Jiaozhou Detention Center the next morning. Money was extorted from his family by the detention center and they were forced to pay 450 yuan for a “boarding fee.”
On the afternoon of February 28, 2012, four or five police officers went to Ms. Chen Songkui's house (she is about 70 years old) in Ximen Village and took pictures without permission. They also threatened his 90 year-old family member. The police went to her home again on the morning of March 1, 2012. They took away a copy of Zhuan Falun, several Falun Gong brochures, two Shen Yun DVDs, etc. On the afternoon of March 2, 2012, several police officers went to Ms. Chen's home again. Several days later, four or five policemen asked Ms. Chen if she still practices Falun Gong, and forced her to give her fingerprint on a piece of paper.

25. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Meng Qingjie Arrested
On April 15, 2012, officers from the Shenhe District Police Department ransacked Ms. Meng Qingjie's home and took away many Dafa books, a laptop and a desktop computer, a printer, and many Falun Gong materials. Ms. Meng was taken away and her whereabouts are unknown.
26. [Zhengzhou, Henan Province] Mr. Zhang Jingfu Arrested
Mr. Zhang Jingfu from Shangjie District was reported to police by a plainclothes police officer while he was talking to people about Falun Gong on January 15, 2012. Several officers took him to the Xinanlu Police Station. The police took away Mr. Zhang Jingfu's electric powered vehicle, the bag on the vehicle, the keys to his home, 500 yuan in cash, and Falun Gong materials. On January 15-20, 2012, the police confiscated 800 yuan in bills on which words about Falun Gong were written, and they extorted his family out of about 30,000 yuan.
27. [Harbin, Heilongjiang] Qianjin Forced Labor Camp Recently Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners
The Qianjin Forced Labor Camp has been forcing Falun Gong practitioners to memorize regulations. In mid-March 2012, Ms. Fang Guilan, Ms. Zhang Yumei, and Ms. Zhao Yuxia refused to recite the regulations. Wang Xiaowei took them to the third floor and shocked them with an electric baton. The three practitioners started a hunger strike, but they were force-fed by guards. Ms. Zhang Yumei and Ms. Fang Guilan's noses bled as a result of forced feeding. The guards did not allow them to sleep and tortured them around the clock. The three practitioners went on the hunger strike for about two weeks. They are forced to recite the regulation now.
