(Minghui.org) On September 15, Falun Gong practitioners in England held an activity in Birmingham to clarify the truth about Falun Gong and let the public know that it is being persecuted in China.

Practitioners set up a booth, hung up banners, and displayed informational materials in downtown Birmingham. They also demonstrated the exercises and handed out flyers. Many people talked to the practitioners, signed the petition, and asked for detailed information on local exercise sites.

Practitioners collected signatures and called for help to rescue the parents of a student attending Cambridge School of Art. The student's father, Yu Zonghai, and mother, Wang Meihong, have been jailed for almost 10 years because they practice Falun Gong. In his appeal letter, the student wrote: “My father Yu Zonghai has benefited from practicing Falun Gong. When I visited him in jail, he was covered with wounds, because the policemen often ordered the criminals to beat him. They had knocked out most of his teeth and broken his legs. He is almost blind due to the torture. He told me that the police hit his chest with electric batons, which caused breathing difficulties. He was healthy, but now he has heart problems.” “He is very weak due to the torture, but the police still force him to do heavy labor.” “My parents are being tortured everyday. Their lives are threatened. I ask everyone with a sense of justice to help.”

Alicja, a young girl from Poland, learned about the persecution a few years ago. Since then she has run into practitioners' events several times in Poland and England. Every time, she has signed the petition to show her support. She cried when talking about the organ harvesting. She said that Poland was governed by the communist party before, so she knows quite well how evil the party is. She praised practitioners for their courage. “The more people that know about it, the stronger the power of justice will be,” she said “I hope everybody comes to sign the petition.”

After signing the petition, Raz, a Pakistan-born Briton, said that everybody should have freedom of belief and that Falun Gong practitioners should be free to practice. “As a mother of two children, I cannot keep silent on the persecution of Falun Gong,” she said. “What kind of moral standard would I be passing on to my children if I ignored these crimes just because they are taking place in another country? What would this world be like if we didn't try to stop the organ harvesting? If we don't stop it in China, some day it may happen here.” Raz praised practitioners for bringing the truth to the public.
