(Minghui.org) On August 12, and 13, 2013, Li Chao, in a conference in Chaoyang City, Li Chao shouted that the police should "strike hard” against Falun Gong practitioners and then follow-up with heavy sentences, even though Falun Gong practitioners are non-threatening.
Arrests Began in May
On May 28, 2013, Li Chao was promoted to director of the public security bureau in Chaoyang City. A few days later, the police started to harass Chaoyang citizens. Li Chao issued orders to arrest and persecute Falun Gong practitioners, claiming it was necessary to guarantee the “safety” of the 12 th National Games. Many practitioners were suddenly taken away from their homes without reason, even a mother who was still nursing her baby. Under Li Chao's direction, the judicial system of Chaoyang City sentenced several practitioners to prison terms of six or seven years.
Trial and Arrests in July
On July 11, 2013, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Du Qingxiu, an English teacher at Linggang Middle School, was brought to trial at the Chaoyang City Intermediate Court. He was sentenced to six years in prison for sending multimedia messages to people in the justice system, advising them not to do bad deeds. The defense lawyer pointed this out, but the public procurator did not explain which law was violated, nor did they provide any proof that the recipients of the multimedia messages were harmed by the messages. The practitioner's lawyer pointed out that the trial was a farce and the judges were violating the Constitution in addition to human rights.
On July 27, 2013, Ms. Sun Baoying, 56-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, was carted off to Qianjin Police Station because she sent a letter to encourage the police to do good deeds. In less than a week, without any legal basis, Zhang Zhiqiang (the chief of Qianjin police station), Zhang Jinliang, Fan Tiewei, Li Yangyang, etc. filed the case at the Shuangta Procuratorate to apply for a warrant for her arrest. The procurators in this case are Zhao Wenjun and Zhou Jie.
Trial in August
On August 9, 2013, Chen Guilan, a 61-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, was brought to trial in Shuangta Court in Chaoyang City. The communist regime's judges has no response to the defense lawyer's strong defense and did not dare to show the “evidence,” a truth-clarification DVD, as requested. Despite the lack of evidence and lack of rebuttal by the prosecution, the judge still sentenced Chen Guilan to seven years in prison.
Arrests in September
On September 5, 2013, officers from Beigoumen Village Police Station in Chaoyang County broke into Ms. Xiao Guofen's home in Zhoutaizi Village and took her Dafa books and photos of Master. The next morning, they took her to the Zhaoyang Detention Center.
On September 5, 2013, Qi Xiuying and Heng Jingxia, practitioners in Jianping County, Chaoyang City, were visiting another practitioner, Yu Shuqin. Several officers broke into Yu Shuqin's house without a warrant and took all three to the detention center. The details are currently under investigation.
On September 5, 2013, officers from Harqin Town Police Station in Jianping County, Chaoyang City, arrested Falun Gong practitioners Xin Suying and Yang Ying (nicknamed Yang Lingling). The two were held in Jianping Detention Center.
On September 4 2013, Zhang Yajun, the director of Yangzhangzi Town Police Station of Lingyuan City, and Zhang Yunbin, the political instructor, arrested practitioner Mr. Shao Jianhui and stole his personal possessions. More details need to be investigated.
On the night of September 6, 2013, seven or eight officers from the public security department of Chaoyang County and the Liucheng Police Station broke into the homes of Ms. Li Yuhuan and Ms. Guo Hairong and took them away. The police ignored the fact that Ms. Guo's child was still nursing. The child cried the whole night. Ms. Li Yuhuan was taking care of her father-in-law, who had just returned from the hospital. The two practitioners are in the Chaoyang County Detention Center.
That same night, the police also broke into the house of a practitioner living in South Dayingzi, but failed to capture him.
On September 9, 2013, Ms. Wang Chunfen, 75, was taken away by Nanta Police Station officers in Chaoyang City. They took Dafa materials, a photo of the founder of Falun Dafa, and Dafa books. She was released on September 11.
On September 10, 2013, Jiajiadian Police Station officers in Chaoyang County arrested Hao Guifen, a Falun Gong practitioner living in Nanpo Village. Further details are unknown at this point.
