(Minghui.org) Secretary "P" of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) went to the same university as I attended, and he used to work in the village and township government. He was transferred to the county in 2011, and became the deputy secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and is now the person in charge of the "stability office" and the 610 Office.
When a practitioner was arrested, it impacted me, and I was arrested, too. At that time, Secretary P had just come on board, and he brought the head of the 610 Office with him to the detention center to see me. Because of our relationship, it was very easy for me to bring up the topic of the truth about Falun Gong during our conversation. I told him that Falun Gong helps people to become well and fit, and it helps people improve their moral standards. I continued by pointing out discussing how the “self-immolation” was staged, how widely Falun Gong has spread overseas, and that persecuting Falun Gong practitioners incurs retribution.
Two weeks later, I was released from the detention center. I visited him at his home and he told me, “Two years ago, our county organized secretaries from the villages to visit Hong Kong, where I saw a Falun Gong parade. It was truly something. I also got a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party from them. I only read it in my hotel room, I didn't dare take it home with me.” When I asked him if he had quit the Party, he said, “No, I didn't. I don't like that Falun Gong is against the Party and plays politics.”
Because he mentioned politics, I clarified the facts about Falun Gong to him. I also told him that it is important to quit the Party in order to be safe, and that many people had already done so. He understood, and I helped him quit.
He then said to me, “You'll need to pay attention to your safety. You should practice at home, don't mingle with those people. If they get arrested again, you'll be impacted as well.” I said, “It was my fault that I got arrested, because I have strong attachments. Teacher told us that it is our historic mission to clarify the truth and to save people. I kindly advise you that, as a member of the management of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, please do not participate in the persecution of Falun Gong!” He said, “I will not. I'll protect you secretly.”
A female practitioner was arrested during the second half of 2011, and after being brutally tortured and threatened, she gave in and revealed the names of several of us practitioners to the guards. Some of us were arrested. As soon as I heard about it, I left town.
After moving from place to place for about eight months, I returned. I went to my workplace and talked to them about returning to work, but the management didn't want me back. They told me to report to the police first, and only if the people from the Domestic Security Department said it was alright, could I return to work.
I went to the Political and Legal Affairs Committee to see Secretary P. He called my managers and said to them, “It has been eight months, and that case is closed. Whoever was supposed to be detained was detained, whoever was supposed to be taken to the forced labor camp is there. Why don't you let him go back to work? It's alright now, let him go back to work!”
Because of what he said, I was able to return to work. Back at the workplace, I have taken every opportunity to clarify the facts and help people quit the Party and its organizations.
