Ms. Wang Qiuju from Zhengzhou City Sentenced to Four Years in Prison, Family Not Informed

(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Qiuju was recently sentenced to four years in prison, without the authorities informing her family. She is being held at the Zhengzhou No. 2 Detention Center and will later be transferred to Xinxiang Women's Prison.

Ms. Wang was arrested by Ma Shujun, director of the Gongye Road Police Station, and Guo Yongzheng, director of the Xiawo Town Police Station on January 12, 2013. Police broke into her home on the same day, but only found one Falun Gong truth clarification calendar when they ransacked the place.

As the calendar was not enough evidence to sentence Ms. Wang, they used evidence from Ms. Wang's previous arrest on June 27, 2012. They claimed that she used money with truth clarification messages written on it at a local market.

Details of the 2012 arrest

Ms. Wang was previously arrested in 2012, when Guo Yongzheng and some officers went to her home. They knocked on the door and pretended they were from the local residential committee. They then ransacked her home. She was released after Guo Yongzheng extorted 5,000 yuan from her family.
