(Minghui.org) Two families in Kunming City have endured repeated persecution at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) because they have upheld their belief in the peaceful spiritual practice of Falun Gong.

Father, mother and daughter, Mr. Ye Baofu, Ms. Yang Mingqing and their daughter, Ye Mao are one of the families. The other is a husband and wife: Mr. Su Kun and Ms. Zhang Xiaodan. Both families were called to appear in court on January 21, 2013.

The Chinese Communist Party, which controls the Kunming City Intermediate Court [not to mention all other courts in China], conspired to sentence these two families to prison.

It was reported that they would first try Mr. Ye Baofu and his family at 9:00 a.m., after which they were to try Mr. Su Kun and his wife. Both families were arrested on May 4, 2012.

In the current climate of injustice, these law-abiding citizens were illegally detained for almost nine months before facing sham trials and almost certain prison sentences.

More details about the situations of these two families are presented below. Unfortunately, similar stories can be told by countless Falun Gong practitioners and their families throughout Mainland China today.

1. Mr. Ye Baofu, former vice president of the Forestry Central Hospital, his wife and daughter arrested

At dawn on May 4, 2012, two police cars arrived at the residential compound for employees and their families of the Yunnan Province Forestry Training Center where Mr. Ye Baofu and his family live. Uniformed police officers took him away, along with his wife Ms. Yang Mingqing and their daughter Ye Mao.

The police videotaped, photographed and searched their home. They confiscated much of the family's personal property and cash. They disconnected the home phone and left after 2:00 p.m., leaving the corridor littered with cigarette butts. Mr. Ye and his family were sent to the Wuhua Detention Center and are still there.

A Dozen Years of Persecution

Mr. Ye Baofu, 62 years old, is a former vice president of the Forestry Central Hospital. His wife, 59, was the office director of the Forestry Training Center. Their daughter, Ye Mao, 34, lost her job because she refused to renounce Falun Gong.

Within a year after the persecution began, on April 4, 2000, Mr. Ye and his wife went to the Provincial Party Committee in Yunnan Province to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. They were detained for 30 days. Later on, the family became homeless rather than face the ongoing persecution and threat of arrest.

On August 15, 2001, they were violently arrested by riot-prevention police from the Panlong State Security Bureau in Kunming City. They were sent to a forced labor camp, where Mr. Ye and his wife were detained for two years, and their daughter for one year.

On January 10, 2005, Mr. Ye and his daughter were again arrested by the Panlong State Security Bureau in Kunming City. His wife was arrested at work by the 610 Office. Their home was searched and they were sent to the No. 2 Detention Center in Panlong District. Mr. Ye was sentenced to five years in prison and his wife and daughter to three years. He and his wife were discharged from their employment.

2. Mr. Su Kun, professor at Yunnan National Defense Technical College, and his wife Ms. Zhang Xiaodan arrested

On May 4, 2012, Mr. Su Kun and his wife, Ms. Zhang Xiaodan, were arrested at their home by officers from the Panlong District Domestic Security in Kunming City. One of them was sent to the No. 2 Detention Center and the other to the No. 1 Detention Center in Panlong District.

Their home was searched and a desktop computer, laptop computer, hard drive, cell phone, Falun Dafa books and other items were confiscated. Ms. Zhang was beaten at the detention center. The Kunming City Procuratorate brought charges against them.

Repeatedly Persecuted Over the Last Decade

Mr. Su and Ms. Zhang lived on the second floor at Apt. 301, Unit 1, Building 2 of the National Defense Technical School in Yunnan Province, Panlong District, Kunming City.

They were good citizens who lived according to Falun Dafa's principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. However, after the CCP began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Mr. Su and Ms. Zhang suffered at the hands of the Domestic Security Police in Panlong District, Kunming City.

On December 6, 2004, Mr. Su Kun, a professor of computer programming, was reported by the parents of one of his students because he gave them CDs explaining the fact about Falun Gong and exposing the persecution. Officers from the Panlong District Domestic Security Division arrested him and sent him to the No. 3 Division of the No. 2 Forced Labor Camp in Yunnan Province for three years.

On June 28, 2007, Mr. Su was transferred to the No. 1 Division, where he endured further persecution in the CCP's efforts to force him to renounce Falun Gong. Seven months were added to his sentence. He was released in July 2008.
