(Minghui.org) Mr. Chen Youbang, who works at the Foreign Ministry, was arrested on November 10, 2012. He had to be taken to a police hospital for emergency treatment the next day. His family has not been allowed to visit him. The Beijing Police Department recently notified his family that the department had “approved the arrest” of Mr. Chen because he practices Falun Gong.

Mr. Chen was born in 1972. He joined the Foreign Ministry after attending graduate school, where he had excelled. Mr. Chen has practiced Falun Dafa for many years and lived by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. His colleagues think highly of him because he is kind and helpful. At home, he is a good husband.

Plainclothes police officers arrested this innocent man outside his home on November 10, 2012. They then ransacked his house and confiscated several books. The next day he was taken to the Chaoyang District Detention Center Police Hospital for emergency treatment. He had no prior illness, but police claimed that he has high blood pressure. He was kept in the hospital for more than a month. It is suspected that he had to be taken to the hospital because he was tortured.

Mr. Chen was not wearing winter clothes when he was arrested. When weather got cold, the police did not allow his family to bring him warm clothes or any personal items. Mr. Chen's family went to Chaoyang District Police Station, but Zhang Yingnan, one of the officers in charge of the case, refused to see them.

On December 19, 2012, Mr. Chen's family received a phone call from Chaoyang District Police Station. They were told that Beijing Police Department had issued a certification of the arrest of Mr. Chen because he was practicing Falun Gong. His wife was grief-stricken, his ten-year-old son misses his father, and his elderly mother cries for him often.

We hope that people of conscience will help Mr. Chen Youbang.
