Additional Persecution News from China – June 5, 2013 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 5 provinces. In this report, 16 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 8 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhai Hui and Ms. Meng Qingjie Physically Weak as a Result of Mistreatment

The appeal of three practitioners (Mr. Zhai Hui, Mr. Jiang Dexin, and Ms. Meng Qingjie) from Shenhe District has reached Shenyang Intermediate Court. Because Mr. Zhai has been on a hunger strike for a long time to protest against the mistreatment, he is very weak and cannot walk by himself. Shenyang Detention Center officials refused to allow his family to visit him. Ms. Meng cannot walk without assistance either.

2. [Harbin, Heilongjiang Province] Two Practitioners Go Missing

Two practitioners (Li and Cui) from Xiangfang District went missing after they went out on May 31, 2013 to distribute informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Wei Arrested

Changchun police arrested Mr. Li Wei on June 2, 2013.

4. [Zhuanglang County, Gansu Province] Two Practitioners Harassed by Local Police

Nanhu Police Station agents went to harass Mr. Bai Xinxi at his home in Simen Village on the afternoon of June 3, 2013. They then went to Mr. Yang Yanqin's home and confiscated Falun Gong books.

5. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] More than a Dozen Practitioners on Hunger Strikes to Protest the Persecution

Over a dozen practitioners were detained at the Fushun Second Detention Center and they are on a hunger strike to oppose the persecution. The practitioners include Ms. Zhang Jie, Ms. Yang Lihua, Ms. Luo Xiujie, Ms. Gai Yongjie, Ms. Liu Liying, Ms. Shang Liping, and others. They all have various degrees of illness symptoms.

6. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Hu Shengchun Put on Trial

Mr. Hu Shengchun was on trial at the Daowai District Court on June 5, 2013.

7. [Xiajin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Tang Jilan's Home Ransacked

Ms. Tang Jilan is a practitioner from Hanwangmiao Village. Shuangmiao Town Police Station agents ransacked her home on the morning of June 1, 2013 and confiscated Falun Gong books. Ms. Tang was not at home.

8. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Sun Yanxia, Mr. Han Jianping, Ms. Fu Guihua, and daughter Ms. Xiao Yan are practitioners from Shunshanpu Village in Tuanjie Town. Police arrested them at home on the morning of June 3, 2013. Their whereabouts are currently unknown.

Police confiscated many items from Ms. Fu's home and hardly left anything. They included Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, TV, washer, DVD player, camera, and all daily necessities.

9. [Nong'an County, Heilongjang Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhu Hongyan, Ms. Li Zhanqi, and Ms. Li Yanfang were arrested on May 12, 2013.

10. [Shanghai] Ms. Li Hui Detained at the Fengxian Brainwashing Center

11. [Rushan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Xiufang Detained

When Ms. Liu Xiufang gave people DVDs to overcome the Internet blockade on the morning of June 3, 2013, Domestic Security Division agents arrested her and ransacked her home. She is currently kept at Rushan City Detention Center.
