(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in France held a petition drive on August 18, 2013, on Human Rights Square in Paris, calling for an end to the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) crime of forced organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners. The petition, which was drawn up by Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting, has received much attention and support from around the world.

After learning about the Party's inhuman practice of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience, a French gynecologist said that she was shocked that such heinous crimes were taking place in China against the backdrop of “prosperity” and “economic development.”
“On my recent trip to China, I never would have imagined that such brutal atrocities were taking place there,” she said.
“I oppose all forms of persecution,” she explained as she was signing the petition. “People should be allowed to donate their organs if they want to, but they can't be removed without their consent just so someone can turn a profit!”
A practitioner told her that a few years ago, the former wife of a Chinese surgeon reported that her husband had been harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners in China for many years. The doctor was visibly shocked when she heard this.
As a French couple signed the petition, the husband said that many countries don't dare to do anything to offend China.
“Their silence in the face of China's human rights abuses amounts to their being complicit with the Party's crimes,” he said.
The couple encouraged the practitioners to keep up the efforts to raise public awareness of the CCP's crimes, and said that they hoped that their signatures would help make a difference in stopping the persecution.
Dajia, from Algeria, along with her son and daughter, also signed the petition. “I am surprised to find out that some members of Chinese society become filthy rich from exploiting others. It's horrible. I hope that this totalitarian regime will some day change!”
The French practitioners were encouraged by the strong public support for Falun Gong and vowed to keep doing whatever they could to help stop the persecution.
