(Minghui.org) Ms. Cui Ping from Suzhou City was arrested on July 24, 2013, by officer Zhang Jingwei from the Gusu District Domestic Security Division, while she was working. Her husband, a non-practitioner, tried to protect his wife when the police arrested her, and he was arrested as well. Ms. Cui is being held at the Shangfangshan Brainwashing Center. Her husband was released on August 1, 2013, eight days later.

The Shangfangshan Brainwashing Center in Suzhou City was set up by the Suzhou 610 Office. The center's primary task is to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. The brainwashing center is run by the deputy chief of the Suzhou Police Department and the head of local 610 Office, Chen Du; deputy head of the local 610 Office, Li Guoli; director of the brainwashing department of Suzhou 610 Office, He Xiaodi; and Baoyong. Hired thugs are employed to work there. Officials from the local county, city, and district 610 Offices are all involved in the persecution. Many practitioners are held there.

Ms. Cui Beaten by Police

Ms. Cui Ping has been arrested many times since the persecution started. Ms. Cui is a kindhearted person who follows Falun Gong's principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in her daily life. She was arrested at work on July 24 at 9:00 a.m. by officers Wan from the Gusu District Domestic Security Division and Zhang Jingwei from the Taohuawu Police Station.

Ms. Cui asked why she was being arresting. One of the officers took out a summons that stated, “On suspicion of being involved in disrupting social order...” Ms. Cui said, “That has nothing to do with me. I only practice Falun Gong. Falun Gong is a legal practice. If you want to arrest me, I won't go with you.” That made officer Zhang Jingwei angry, so he twisted her arms behind her back. He also throttled her neck with his bare hands, hurting her shoulder.

Just then, Ms. Cui's husband arrived. He yelled at Zhang Jingwei and told him to stop. Zhang Jingwei then started hitting Ms. Cui in the head. Ms. Cui's husband tried to separate Zhang Jingwei from his wife, but ripped Zhang Jingwei's T-shirt by accident. Ms. Cui's husband was arrested for attacking a police officer and for hindering a police officer in the line of duty. He was detained for eight days.

Ms. Cui was pushed into a car and taken to the Taohuawu Police Station. Zhang Jingwei continued twisting her hands behind her and pushed her into a room. Ms. Cui began to shout, “Falun Dafa is good!” Someone told Zhang Jingwei to stop. He let go of her and left.

Officers from the local Domestic Security Division searched Ms. Cui's bag and took her keys without her permission. They then ransacked her home. Her son's laptop, two computers, computer hardware, and other personal belongings were confiscated.

During her 24 hours in detention, Ms. Cui was given a small bag of bread and a bun to eat. She was later taken to the Shangfangshan Brainwashing Center.

Four to five practitioners were taken to the brainwashing center that day.

In the Brainwashing Center

Ms. Cui was monitored by three guards and was not allowed to leave the room. She was interrogated by officers from the local Domestic Security Division during the day and by officers from the Taohuawu Police Station at night. They tried to force her to give up her belief, but they did not succeed.

The officers began to threaten her. The head of local 610 Office shouted at her, “You have committed a crime! You don't know the law!” Ms. Cui asked them to show her the relevant legal documents, but they were unable to show her anything. In the end, they threatened her, saying, “We know all about you. If your attitude is good, then we will release you.” They also asked Ms. Cui if she had anything to say. She said, “Treat Falun Gong fairly.” They replied, “That is impossible.”
