(Minghui.org) Fourteen Falun Gong practitioners in Poxin Town in the Maogang District of Maoming City, Guangdong Province, were arrested on November 2, 2013. Ms. Liang Guifen is still being held at the Maoming No. 1 Detention Center.
Ms. Liang Guifen is in her 50s. Her family is worried about her since they have not seen her nor been given any information about her since her illegal arrest. Ms. Liang's family has been looking for whoever is responsible for her arrest but to no avail.
Family Given the Runaround
Ms. Liang's family again went to the Maogang District Domestic Security Division, looking for Captain Lu Shanghui. Instructor Li spoke to Lu Shanghui on the phone, then told the family to leave, saying that Lu was not available.
When Ms. Liang's family went to the Maogang District Appeals Office, the officer there said, “We do not handle Falun Gong matters. You have to ask the Domestic Security Division.”
Her family went back to the Maogang District Domestic Security Division, asking for Lu Shanghui's cell phone number. Instructor Li told them that Lu was not happy with their previous call and did not want his phone number given to anyone.
A member of the family returned to the Appeals Office, but no one there would give out the phone number. When Ms. Liang's family refused to leave, they were finally given the phone number and called Lu Shanghui. He answered but immediately hung up. When they called again, he did not answer.
Ms. Liang's Husband and Son Incarcerated
A distant relative of Ms. Liang's reported, “Mr. Li Kun (Ms. Liang's husband) and his family have benefited a lot from Falun Gong. He once had many ailments, the worst being with his stomach. He wasn't even able to straighten up, he was in so much pain. He also was plagued with unhealthy habits such as smoking and drinking. After taking up the practice of Falun Gong, all of his diseases were cured, his behavior improved, and he gave up all his bad habits.”
Ms. Liang also suffered from stomach disease and was disrespectful to her mother-in-law. After practicing Falun Dafa, she became healthy and respectful. The entire family is friendly and grateful. The neighbors, too, agree that Falun Dafa is amazing.
After the Chinese Communist Party began to persecute Falun Dafa, the police arrested Mr. Li Kun and his son, Li Xinhua, in January 2002. Mr. Li Kun was sentenced to 14 years in prison; Li Xinhua, who is under 18, was sentenced to 5 years in prison. Now Ms. Liang Guifen has been taken away, leaving her elderly mother-in-law on her own.
Ms. Liang wholeheartedly follows the standard of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She takes good care of her mother-in-law, farms, and takes care of the family. However, she has become the target of persecution by the Chinese Communist Party, simply because of her belief.
