Additional Persecution News from China – September 23, 2014 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 5 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jiuquan, Gansu Province] Ms. Li Kuangfeng and Ms. Tian Fenglan Sentenced

The Suzhou District Court tried Ms. Li Kuangfeng and Ms. Tian Fenglan on April 9, 2014. Ms. Li was sentenced to six years' imprisonment and Ms. Tian was sentenced to three years' imprisonment with four years' probation on July 25, 2014.

2. [Laizhou, Shandong Province] Ms. Hou Chengyun Detained

Ms. Hou Chengyun was arrested by officers from the Yidao Police Station when she was talking to people about Falun Gong in Yidao Town on September 20, 2014. She was taken to the detention center.

3. [Yangyuan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Gailin Detained

Ms. Li Gailin was arrested by officers from the Yangyuan Domestic Security Division when she was distributing Falun Gong materials in Huashaoying Market at noon on September 19, 2014. The police extorted 1000 yuan from her daughter. Ms. Li was taken to the Zhangjiakou Detention Center for a 15-day term.

4. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Ms. Yang Xingfang Detained

Ms. Yang Xingfang from Qingshan District was arrested by officers from the Huaqiao Police Station on September 11, 2014. She was held at the Huaqiao Police Station for 10 days. Ms. Yang has been released.

5. [Tonghua, Jilin Province] Mr. Su Yashan Detained

Mr. Su Yashan was transferred from a brainwashing center to the Meihekou Detention Center.

6. [Yaan, Sichuan Province] Mr. Lu Guangxin and Ms. Liu Tingzhen Arrested

Mr. Lu Guangxin and Ms. Liu Tingzhen from Mingshan were arrested and taken to the Heizhu Police Station when they were distributing calendars with information about Falun Gong on September 19, 2014. The police confiscated the calendars, their cell phones and other property. The two practitioners were transferred to the Mingshan Domestic Secretary Division. They have been released on bail.

7. [Zhongfang County, Hunan Province] Ms. Jiang Yunqiu Arrested

Lei Jianhua, chief of the Zhongfang 610 Office and Hu, deputy secretary of the Zhongfang Political and Legal Affairs Committee led five people to break into the store where Ms. Jiang Yunqiu works on the afternoon of September 22, 2014. Ms. Jiang was arrested. Her whereabouts is unknown.

8. [Beijing] Mr. Wei Shuhong Arrested

Mr. Wei Shuhong was arrested at the beginning of August 2014. His whereabouts is unknown.

9. [Yanji, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Lianjie Persecuted

Mr. Li Lianjie was arrested at the beginning of September 2014. He was harassed by police after being released. Mr. Li has been forced to abandon his home to avoid persecution.

10. [Yushu, Jilin Province] Mr. Guo Yongxin Detained

Mr. Guo Yongxin was arrested by the local domestic security officers when he was working at his office in the Yushu State Tax Bureau on September 16, 2014. He was taken to the brainwashing center which was held at the Economic Commission Guest House.

11. [Qingyang, Gansu Province] Four Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Jiao Lili, Ms. Wang Yurong, Ms. Xiao Luo and Ms. Du Lanping were taken to the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center.

12. [Shulan, Jilin Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Jiang Yuejun, a teacher of the Qingfeng High School jumped from the 2^nd floor of the brainwashing center where he was detained on the early morning of September 20, 2014. He was taken to the trauma hospital for treatment. Ms. Yao Chunyan was arrested when she was taking care of her husband.

Ms. Guo Lijuan went to the hospital to visit Mr. Jiang on the same day. She was arrested on the way home by the officers who followed her. She was also taken to the brainwashing center.

13. [Shulan, Jilin Province] Mr. Han Fu Detained

Mr. Han Fu from Kongtun was arrested by officers from the Liangjiashan Police Station when he was distributing Falun Gong materials on September 9, 2014. He is being held at the Shulan Detention Center.

14. [Suning County, Hebei Province] Ms. He Fengjin Arrested

Ms. He Fengjin from Kuzhuang, Suning was arrested by officers from the Shaozhuang Police Station when she was distributing Falun Gong materials in Junzhuang Village, Shaozhuang Township on the night of September 21, 2014. She was not released until midnight.

15. [Qingdao, Shandong Province] Ms. Dou Hongxia and Her Husband's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Dou Hongxia and her husband from Songyuan Village, Jiaonan, Huangdao District were arrested by officers from the Jiaonan Police Station on the morning of September 22, 2014. Their home was ransacked. The couple's whereabouts are unknown.
