(Minghui.org) Ms. Han Xiurong was from Hebei Province. Even after being forced to divorce her former husband, she still took care of his parents. By the end of last year, the police illegally arrested her because she practiced Falun Gong.
The Duanluming Police Station officers used the excuse that Ms. Han's car was scratched on December 18, 2013, taking the opportunity to intrude in her home. They took away many personal belongings and cash. She was arrested and has been detained in the Tangshan First Detention Center to date.
Ms. Han, 55, is a retired worker from the Zhenbei Village of Fengrun District in Tangshan City of Hebei Province. After she married, she was beaten and scolded by her husband. She had a lot of health issues because of living in constant fear for a long time. Her husband had an affair when she was in her 30s. To force her agreement on a divorce, he beat her. He even beat her over the head once with a brick. All sorts of abuse did not break her will in defending her marriage. Her husband even allowed his mistress to go on a hunger strike to threaten her.
Ms. Han was forced to divorce in 1994. She took their children with her and because of resentment, she refused any contact with her former husband's family. In addition, she didn't allow them to visit her children.
Shortly after Ms. Han began practicing Falun Gong in 1996, all of her diseases disappeared. Her happiness was indescribable. Falun Gong made her understand the truth of being a human and the true meaning of life, and she no longer resented her former in-laws.
Two years after her divorce, she started to contact her former in-laws. She practiced the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in every aspect of her life. Her former in-laws enjoyed living with her., and Ms. Han took care of them with other relatives without any complaints.
Her former father-in-law passed away last year. Ms. Han still took care of her former mother-in-law who was close to 80 years old and lived with her son's family of four.
After her former husband remarried, he had a serious case of thrombosis in 2002 and could no longer take care of himself. His wife wanted to divorce him. Seeing the miserable life her former husband was living, she often went to take care of him, would feed him, and walked him around until he passed away in 2013 .
