(Minghui.org) My sister and I are Dafa practitioners who immigrated to the United States in May 2012. I was persecuted and tortured in China but remained true to the practice. Soon after I arrived in the United States I began to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa to Chinese visitors at popular tourist sites.
14 Years of Persecution
Since 1999, Falun Dafa has been subjected to the most brutal and unprecedented persecution in China. I experienced almost 15 years of persecution. I was arrested five times, sentenced to forced labor twice, and held in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Liaoning Province for five years and three months. Despite being tortured, I refused to renounce my belief in Master Li Hongzhi (the founder of Falun Dafa) and the principles of Dafa.
In writing this article I would like thank Master for giving me the rare and precious opportunity of becoming a Fa-rectification period Falun Dafa disciple.
Additionally, my sister and I were fortunate to attend four Falun Dafa experience sharing conferences within a year of arriving in the United States and being able to hear Master lecture. Listening in person to Teacher lecture at the 2013 Western U.S. Fa Conference, I could feel the urgency of saving people.
We Didn't Escape the Persecution to Live a Comfortable Life
For someone who neither drives nor speaks English, it is difficult to get to tourist sites. But I understand clearly that I haven't escaped the persecution and come to the United States just to live a comfortable life. I know that nothing can stop me from helping my fellow Chinese understand Falun Dafa.
Additionally, I was fortunate to have gained a good foundation in clarifying the truth and helping people quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organization face-to-face during my many years of cultivation. Thus, going to tourist sites where busloads of Chinese people can be found is a perfect opportunity for my sister and me.
To both of us, saving the Chinese people has become our calling. We started by going to tourist sites three times a week, which has now increased to four times a week. The summer of 2012 was very hot. We stood under the blazing sun for six to seven hours each day. We neither felt bitter or tired but were filled with compassion for those who needed to hear the facts.
During the following winter, it was so cold that the food we bought froze. Yet Master's words expressed the mood that I was feeling at that time:
"We are stopped by neither wind nor rain, all for whom?
We eat and sleep on the street, all for whom?
Standing on the sidewalk, disciples of Dafa
Leaflets in hand born of compassion and painstaking effort
It is solely to save you from the disaster
Only by knowing the truth can you see clearly the future
We don't seek anything in return
We merely wish to give you a path of hope"

Overcoming Adversity to Clarify the Truth with Compassion
My sister and I can persuade between 40 to 50 people to quit the CCP each day, and sometimes up to 70 people during the summer and winter holidays. Over the past year we have persuaded close to 10,000 people to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
One day, about six women in their 30s passed our site. I tried to talk to them, but they were belligerent and made some rude gestures. Then they asked for money and said, "You said Falun Dafa is good, so you should give us money! Give us U.S. dollars! We want money!"
I stopped talking to them and instead played some truth-clarification recordings. I turned my MP4 player up and plugged in the speaker to clear the environment of evil influences. I played recordings about the CCP's crimes of live organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience and the Tiananmen Square self-immolation.
As the women continued with their combative attitude, I remembered what Master said:
"Compassion can harmonize Heaven and Earth, ushering in spring
Righteous thoughts can save the people in this world"

These words strengthened my righteous thoughts. I told myself that I had to manifest the greatest compassion in order to awaken their conscience. I smiled, continued to send forth righteous thoughts, and disintegrated the evil factors that manipulated these sentient beings from listening to the truth. They finally stopped being antagonistic.
I followed the women to the tour bus, where I saw 20 to 30 people standing around the bus. Wow! There were so many people. I was really grateful to them for leading me to this place. I played a few truth-clarification recordings for them and they listened very attentively.
When I started to hand out informational materials, a tour guide shouted that they were not allowed to take the materials and anyone who did could not return to China. I tried to reason with him, but he threatened to take my photo and send it to China so I would be sentenced to prison on my return. I reasoned some more with him and he simmered down.
Then the driver, an American in his 30s, rushed over to me and turned off my MP3 player. He told me to leave, because they didn't want to listen to my recordings. I needed to make sure that these tourists didn't think that America was against Falun Dafa because the driver could drive me away.
I sent forth righteous thoughts and asked for Master's help to strengthen me. I switched my speaker back on and continued to play the recordings. Agitated, the driver walked away from me and back again, but no longer tried to stop me.
I saw a man sitting at the bus window giving me the thumbs-up. As the bus pulled away, the people waved to me, while that man gave me another thumbs-up.
Udumbara Flowers in Trees at the Tourist Site
One time, a woman in her 30s passed by our tourist site. She didn't want to listen to me. I was not deterred and told her that I was glad that she had come to this country and could listen to the truth and that more than 150 million people in China had quit the Party. I told her I hoped that she would not miss the opportunity.
I talked to her about the Tiananmen Square self-immolation hoax, the great flood in Fushun, the haze in Beijing, and much more.
I sent forth righteous thoughts and spoke to her about the persecution I experienced in China. I told her that I was held in Masanjia and showed her my wrists, which still have clear traces of handcuffs after more than five years.
She asked, “Isn't that woman on your display board from Shenyang?” I had not expected that she had even noticed the board. I said, “Yes, she is a Gao Rongrong, a Dafa disciple in Shenyang and a former accountant at the Lumei Institute. She was persecuted to death.”
The woman asked me if I was being paid for what I was doing and how I came to the United States. I answered truthfully that I wasn't paid by anyone. Then I spoke of the 14 years of persecution I experienced and that my brother-in-law was murdered for practicing Falun Dafa. I told her that I would rather be back in China, but with the persecution still going strong I could not go back there.
She broke into tears, and I did too. She withdrew from the CCP and asked for Falun Dafa materials, which she would take back to China.
Before leaving, she told me about a dream she'd had the previous night. “I dreamed that my mother came to look for me. She passed away a dozen years ago. In my dream, I saw that she was very pitiful. I wanted to save her but I do not know how to.”
At that moment, I thought of Master's lecture on helping deceased people to quit the Party. I told her that her mother knew that she would come to this site today and hoped that she would withdraw from the Party for her. She agreed, with tears covering her face. I asked her to tell her friends and relatives about her overseas experience and that they also should quit the CCP and its affiliates.
On leaving, my new friend turned around several times and waved. While waving back, I saw many Udumbara flowers in the dense trees at our truth-clarification site. Some trees had one or two, while there were three or four flowers in other trees. This is Master's careful arrangement to encourage his disciple!
Fortunate to Be a Dafa Practitioner
There are so many stories about Chinese people finally agreeing to quite the CCP and its affiliates. And every one of them is precious and brings tears to my eyes.
It is very fortunate to be a Fa-rectification period Dafa disciple and to be able to fulfill the grand vows we made in pre-historic times. It is my great wish to help Master rectify the Fa and save sentient beings. I must seize the time to save sentient beings.
