(Minghui.org) Shanghai Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Huang Naiwei was illegally arrested and her home was ransacked on January 23, 2014, after police and neighborhood committee staff broke in. A month later, Huangpu District Procuratorate approved her arrest and she is facing an unlawful trial.

Ms. Huang was only released six months ago. She was arrested for explaining the facts about Falun Gong to people on March 14, 2012. She was sentenced to forced for 18 months. In July 2013, she was released early due to the closing of forced labor camps. When she returned home, she had difficulty walking and couldn’t even straighten her back after having been tortured.

Ms. Huang is retired from the No. 18 Radio Factory of Shanghai. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong, Ms. Huang has been arrested multiple times and taken to forced labor camps three times and a brainwashing center once.

Past Imprisonment

Ms. Huang was arrested on June 18, 2009, and sentenced to 15 months of forced labor. She was due to be released on September 16, 2010, but local police and neighborhood committee staff transferred her directly from the prison to the Qingpu Brainwashing Center. This was done for "security reasons" for the 2010 World Expo.

Luo Deyuan from the Department of Political Security of the Luwan Police Department and local police arrested Ms. Huang at home on March 19, 2007. She was taken to the police station in handcuffs for interrogation, which lasted from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

The police said, “If you don't renounce Falun Gong, you will be transferred to a mental hospital and given injections meant for mentally ill people. No one will know about what happens to you.”

Ms. Huang was taken to the Shanghai Women's Forced Labor Camp for one year. The guards instructed three inmate drug offenders to watch and torture her around the clock. The inmates forced her to sit on a small stool for long periods of time, which resulted in broken skin on her buttocks. The guards also ordered inmates to punch and kick her because she refused to swear at Falun Gong and its founder.

Ms. Huang was arrested for distributing materials about Falun Gong in early 2001. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor in the Shanghai Women's Forced Labor Camp, where she was subjected to brainwashing and hard labor.

During those two years, Ms. Huang's mother passed away, but police prohibited the family from informing her until right before her mother's funeral. She was finally allowed to see her mother’s body after repeated requests from her family. Local police and neighborhood committee personnel often went to her home to harass her after she returned home.
