(Minghui.org) A family of three Falun Gong practitioners in Yantai City, Shandong Province, was illegally arrested and detained for a month after their home was ransacked by local police. They are still under police surveillance since their release on June 20, 2014.

Arrested and Home Ransacked

More than 10 officers from the Zhifu District Domestic Security Division, 610 Office, and Lijiaoqiao Police Station arrived at Mr. Jiang Qianguo’s house at 6 a.m. on May 23. They pretended to be postal workers to get someone to open the door. They then rushed in and arrested Mr. Jiang; his wife, Ms. Fu Chunhua; and their, daughter Jiang Jing, and began searching the home. The search went on for three hours.

The Jiangs and their daughter were kept in one room while the officers searched the other rooms. Zhang Chunjie, a Domestic Security Division officer, even searched every pocket of their clothing. He boasted, “This is how we search Falun Gong practitioners’ homes.” He kept swearing and threatened to beat Mr. Jiang.

The police walked away with cash, a bank deposit certificate, bank cards, Falun Gong books, computers, printers, an external hard drive, and several cell phones. They made a mess of the house. Clothing and other items were left on the floor, and they did a lot of damage.

Detained for a Month

The three practitioners were taken to Lijiaoqiao Police Station for questioning and physicals. Mr. Jiang was later moved to Yantai’s South Suburb Detention Center. Ms. Fu and their daughter were taken to Fushan Detention Center.

Nearly a month later, on June 20, they were released at 10 p.m. The police returned only their bank certificates, bank cards, personal IDs, keys and a small amount of cash.
