(Minghui.org) Ms. Zhang Shufeng is in critical condition after nine months of detention in the Weifang City Detention Center. She suffered brutal force-feeding and her entire body became swollen and purple. Her family is worried about her.

Brutally Force-Fed

Ms. Zhang Shufeng, in her 40s, from Shouguang City, was illegally arrested on October 15, 2013, for distributing materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her family didn't find out about her whereabouts for more than 20 days after her disappearance. She was later sentenced to three and a half years in a prison.

Ms. Zhang has been held in the Weifang City Detention Center since her arrest. She held a hunger strike to protest the arrest and was brutally force-fed.

Persecuted Over the Past Six Years

Ms. Zhang was arrested on March 7, 2008, when she appealed for justice for Falun Gong in Beijing She was later sentenced to two and a half years of forced labor and detained in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

When she was released from the labor camp in October 2010, the officials from the local 610 Office immediately took her to the Shouguang Brainwashing Center. She was held there for three months before she was released.

She was taken to a brainwashing center in March and October of 2010 during the period of the National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
