(Minghui.org) At the third Minnesota Food Truck Fair, a free annual event in uptown Minneapolis that brings people together from all around the State of Minnesota, visitors were offered an opportunity to support a worthy cause while enjoying gourmet food.

At the June 29 event, Falun gong practitioners shared the facts of the persecution that is taking place in China and collected signatures to call for an end to the Chinese Communist Party's state-sanctioned crimes of harvesting organs from persecuted Falun Gong practitioners.

Many visitors stopped to learn more about the forced organ harvesting and were shocked at the brutality of the persecution. They signed the petition to say “No!” to the communist regime's crimes against humanity.

Several elderly Chinese practitioners don't speak English very well. However, they used simple sentences such as “could you sign?” and pointed to the display boards that explained in more detail about the forced organ harvesting. Many Americans were moved to action, as profiting from organ harvesting challenges the bottom line of humanity.

The local citizens' support has been echoed by state legislators. State Representative Phyllis Kahn and other 34 members of the Minnesota House have requested the Minnesota Department of Health to investigate the origins of any foreign-sourced organ donations in Minnesota in a co-signed letter to its commissioner.

In the letter dated March 31, 2014, they also wished to ensure that none of the organs obtained through organ harvesting in China are used for medical research at any publicly-funded medical research institution in Minnesota.
