Several Falun Gong Practitioners in Shulan Taken to Brainwashing Centers

(Minghui.org) Several Falun Gong practitioners from Shulan City, Jilin Province were arrested in late August 2014. They were illegally detained in local brainwashing centers. Officials from the 610 Office were major participants in the arrests.

Recent Arrests in Shulan City

Mr. Jiang Yuejun, a teacher from the No. 22 Middle School in Tiande Town, was arrested outside the school at around 4:00 p.m. on August 21, 2014. Director Wen Changji and several other police officers made the arrest. Mr. Jiang is being held at the Shangying Town Brainwashing Center.

Mr. Wang Wentian from Jiusheng Village in Qili Town was arrested on the morning of August 22. A month prior to his arrest, village Party secretary Tian Wanjun and more than ten officers from the Shulan 610 Office, Qili Town Police Station, and the government offices, broke into Mr. Wang's home and ransacked the place.

Ms. Tan Yuling, in her seventies, was arrested at around 4:00 a.m. on August 22, by four police officers and a person in plainclothes. She is being held at the Shangyingzi Brainwashing Center. Ms. Tan is from Bao'an Village in Baiqi Town.

Director Wang Guogang of the Tiedong Police Station, along with officer Zheng Yunpu and four others, knocked on Mr. Yang Jianwei's door at around 5:00 a.m. on August 22. They tricked him in to opening his door by saying that water was leaking from his home to the premises below. They tried to arrest him when he opened the door, but he managed to quickly escape.

Mr. Song Shiquan from Beicheng Street was arrested on August 23, and is being held in a brainwashing center.
