(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jiao Hong was tried on December 25, 2014. Her lawyers pled "not guilty" on her behalf, and the trial concluded without reaching a verdict.

Plainclothes officers forced their way into Ms. Jiao's home on July 17, 2014, saying they needed to check her residence papers. They arrested her and ransacked her home without presenting any identification or a warrant. They found Falun Gong books and used them as “evidence” to arrest her.

At the trial, Ms. Jiao's lawyers refuted the prosecution's charges and the “evidence” against her. “Ms. Jiao is being charged for having Falun Gong books at home, spreading the teachings of the practice, and 'undermining law enforcement,'” they said. “Then, who did she spread the teachings to, and where is the witness? To what extent did her belief harm someone? Which law enforcement was undermined, and to what extent?”

Neither the prosecutor nor judge Jiang Yaling responded.

Ms. Jiao added, “It's not wrong to follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I haven't harmed anyone, nor have I undermined any law enforcement. I should be released immediately.”

Before the trial ended, the judge said, “I'm not going to deal with this case anymore. Let the intermediate court decide.” Ms. Jiao's case, along with the case of 11 other Falun Gong practitioners who were arrested at the same time, was then submitted to the intermediate court.

The police took Ms. Jiao back to the detention center in a police car. Her daughter, whom she had not seen for than six months, ran after the police car as it sped away. She cried for her mother, and many of Ms. Jiao's relatives cried at what they saw.
