Additional Persecution News from China – October 20, 2015 (23 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 35 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Liangshan County, Shandong Province] Two Practitioners Detained, One Practitioner Arrested and Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Zhang Chaoying and Ms. Qian Xiuyun were arrested on October 16, 2015. Mr. Han Chunhuan, Ms. Qian's husband, was arrested the next day. Ms. Qian and Mr. Han are detained at the Liangshan Center District Police Station. Ms. Zhang's whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Qin Hanmei Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Ms. Qin Hanmei was sentenced to five years in prison by the Wuhan An District Court on September 17, 2015. She is incarcerated in the Wuhan City Women's Prison. Her family visit was denied.

3. [Qinyang City, Hebei Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced

Mr. Guo Jiangtao was arrested for speaking up for Falun Gong on April 7, 2014. Mr. Jin Xiaoliu, Ms. Li Taizhi, and Mr. Tian Changqing were arrested at the same time. Qinyang Court sentenced Mr. Tian to five and a half years in prison, Mr. Guo and Mr. Jin to three and a half years, and Ms. Li to three years.

4. [Wenshui, Shanxi Province] Ms. Mu Junlian Sentenced to Three and a half Years in Prison

The Wenshui Court sentenced Ms. Mu Junlian to three and a half years in prison on March 19, 2015. The middle court affirmed the sentence without a hearing in September. Ms. Mu is imprisoned in the Shanxi Province Women's Prison.

5. [Gaotang County, Shandong Province] Mr. Peng Shuming Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

The Gaotang Court sentenced Mr. Peng Shuming to three years in prison. Mr. Peng was arrested on July 1, 2014, and is imprisoned in the Liaocheng Prison.

6. [Fuyang, Anhui Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Fengyun, Mr. Shi Fumin, and Ms. Yang Heqin were arrested for filing legal complaints against Jiang Zemin on October 9, 2015. Police ransacked their homes.

7. [Chongqing] Ms. Yang Shukun Arrested

Ms. Yang Shukun was arrested at home on October 14, 2015. She was released from the Dongcheng Police Station that afternoon.

8. [Nankao County, Henan Province] Four Practitioners Under Administrative Detention

Mr. Liu Yubao, Mr. Liu's wife Ms. Wu Junying, Ms. Wu Jianling, and Mr. Zhang Qirong were arrested at home for filing legal complaints against Jiang Zemin on October 12, 2015. They are under administrative detention.

9. [Fengning County, Hebei Province] Ms. Yu Haixia Arrested

Ms. Yu Haixia was arrested on October 14, 2015.

10. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Yuchun Abused at Detention Center

Ms. Li Yuchun was arrested on October 2, 2015, and incarcerated at the Anshan City Detention Center. Sun Lina, director of the detention center, scolded and beat her for 5 days. Ms. Li suffered bruises to her nose and face, as well as eye injuries. When she went on a hunger strike to protest the abuse, she was force fed with salt water.

11. [Suizhou City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Sun Guizhi was arrested at her business, a tailor shop, on October 16, 2015.

Mr. Wei Wei and Mr. Wei Xiaoping were arrested the same day.

Their whereabouts are unknown.

12. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Dongmei and Mr. Liu Tan Detained for 15 Days

Ms. Liu Dongmei and her husband, Mr. Liu Tan, were arrested at home on October 16, 2015. They are subjected to 15 days of detention and incarcerated at the Fushan Detention Center.

Mr. Chen Zhihua and his wife from Yangshugou, Xinchengzi Town, Miyun County, Beijing were arrested for filing complaints against Jiang Zemin on October 10, 2015. Mr. Chen is being held at the Miyun Detention Center.

Mr. Wang Yuhua was arrested for filing complaints against Jiang Zemin on October 15, 2015. He escaped while in detention.

Ms. Fang Shiying, Mr. Jiang Fanrong, Mr. Zhou Hongliang, and Ms. He were arrested at Ms. Fang's home on October 16, 2015. Their whereabouts are unknown.

18. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Ms. Wu Bilin Arrested

Ms. Wu Bilin was arrested on October 15, 2015. Police searched her home.

19. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Hechun Detained for 15 Days

Ms. Liu Hechun was arrested for filing complaints against Jiang Zemin. She was detained for 15 days at the Dongting Detention Center.

20. [Jinzheng, Shandong Province] Two Practitioners Detained, One Arrested and Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Liu Wenlin was arrested on August 13, 2015. He has been detained at the Jinchen City Detention Center.

Ms. Li Xiuying was detained for 15 days when she asked police to return her personal items on October 13, 2015. Officers from the Lanhua Police Station seized her computer, printer and Falun Gong books when they ransacked her home.

Ms. Li Xiaoli was arrested on October 14, 2015. Her whereabouts are unknown.

The Luzhou Middle Court affirmed the three year prison sentence on Ms. Luo Lingrong on September 29, 2015.

Ms. Zhang Daidi was arrested for speaking up for Falun Gong on October 17, 2015. Officers handcuffed her and covered her mouth.
