(Minghui.org) “We need to let more people know about organ harvesting in China,” said a man to a group of Falun Gong practitioners who were passing out flyers in downtown Chatswood, a town near Sydney, Australia. The man said he works at the TV network SBS, which aired a 25-minute documentary, “Human Harvest: China's Organ Trafficking,” during prime time on April 7. He hoped their flyers would include a web link to the documentary.

The signature drive on April 11 in downtown Chatswood was part of a series of activities held in Australia since the TV broadcast, to draw attention to the state-sanctioned organ harvesting atrocities in China. The SBS staff member was pleased to find that one of the flyers the practitioners were distributing featured information on the documentary.

Kathrine, a practitioner at the event, told the Minghui correspondent that they could see the broad impact of the recent SBS broadcast.

“We have received warm responses today. Everybody condemns the organ harvesting. Obviously it is not a controversial issue. Many passersby said that they will tell more people about it,” Kathrine said. “Many people have signed the petition at this event, including some Koreans and Chinese.”

Jake, an employee of a store nearby, saw practitioners' display boards through the store window, and came out to express his support. He said he would encourage others to sign the petition as well.

Steven Theo, the owner of a local hair salon, had never heard about the organ harvesting atrocities.

“I will tell everyone that comes in my store about it,” Steven said. He took a stack of flyers for his customers.

He was further alarmed when he learned that the persecution of Falun Gong has been going on for almost 16 years. “This is inhuman. We would not even treat animals like that. How can they treat people this way in China?”

“Thank you for opening my eyes and letting me know what is happening in China. God bless you,” said Steven. He told practitioners that he would watch the SBS documentary right away and introduce it to his customers.

Eighty-year old Ms. Yao, a retired Chinese engineer, moved from Shanghai to Sydney 17 years ago. She talked to Ms. Yuan, a practitioner at the event, for a long time.

“Everybody should learn about this, and everybody should stand up to help stop it. I always sign your petitions whenever I see your activities. It is a shame that such an evil crime is still happening in today's society.”

“My friends and I do not like the communist party,” Ms. Yao said. “I received my early education without the communist party's pollution, so I can see through their lies. The party has been making lies and trying to deceive everyone.”

Many Chinese tourists and students also stopped at the event to learn more. “I didn't know about this,” said a Chinese visitor named Mr. Wang. “This is the most evil and horrible thing. I will read your material and watch the SBS documentary.”
