(Minghui.org) My grandpa had 6 sons and 11 grandchildren. I was the ninth grandchild. My parents, aunts, and uncles have all passed away. A jar of gold that my grandpa had buried in the backyard was discovered when they leveled his home in the fall of 2009. My cousin, the seventh grandchild, pocketed the gold.

This caused a big family dispute. My older cousins argued that according to tradition, the money should be divided equally among the six sons. They further argued that the gold had not been left by our cousin's parents, so there was no reason that he should get it.

I said, “I am a Falun Gong practitioner. My master teaches us that we shouldn't be attached to material wealth and that everything has its karmic relationship. I will follow his teachings and not get involved in this.”

I advised my cousins not to get involved, either, and suggested that they try and see the bigger picture. I said that the ancients placed a high value on keeping the peace. The dispute ended.

The news of our dispute and its resolution traveled by word of mouth throughout the county, and many expressed admiration for the virtue of Falun Gong practitioners.
