(Minghui.org) Ms. Tan Yanling and her family from the Dongshan District in Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province, have been relentlessly persecuted for refusing to give up practicing Falun Gong.

As a result of being persecuted, her father Tan Guoyi died in 2004 and her older brother Tan Yanjun died in 2005. The local police also canceled her younger sister Tan Yanwei's residence registration. When Ms. Tan, who is disabled, reported this to the government, they responded by beating her.

Ms. Tan's Recent Arrest

Ms. Tan called a Heilongjiang hotline number on March 20, 2015. Lang Shaohui, director of the Disciplinary Committee of the Hegang Police Department, refused to take her case.

When she then went to the Hegang Police Department appeals office, Lang Shaohui ordered Yan Shouchuan to arrest Ms. Tan. Yan dispatched officers Liu Rui, Wei Xuezhong, Liu Xingjin, and Shi Peng from the Xinyi Police Station to make the arrest.

The officers had to drag Ms. Tan into a police vehicle. They grabbed her hands, twisted her wrist, and pried her fingers loose. Her injured wrist and fingers still cause her pain. They also took her cell phone away.

Harassed and Arrested in 2014

Back on March 31, 2014, Ms. Tan called the Disciplinary Committee of the Ministry of Public Security hotline. She reported that officer Zhang Zhulin with the Xinyi Police Station and Zhang Lili with the Residence Registration Section had illegally destroyed her sister Ms. Tan Yanwei's residence registration and that her sister had been arrested and beaten many times and had her home ransacked by Hegang Police Department officers, who took off all her clothes and drew blood from her against her will.

On the morning of August 28, 2014, Liu Jinye from the Hongqi Road Police Station and officers from Xinyi Police Station, including Wei Xuezhong, Cao Wusheng, Guan Fujia, Li Qiang, and Shi Feng, broke into Ms. Tan's home. They ransacked it and arrested her.
