(Minghui.org) I began practicing Falun Dafa in 1996 and am now 87 years old. On January 12, 2005, the Epoch Times website asked that people quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. I then began reaching out to people and helping them quit. I now help more than 10,000 people quit the Party every year, and have helped more than 110,000 in total.

Talking to People Every Day

I go out to talk to people every morning, 365 days per year. I haven't missed a day even when it was rainy, windy, or a holiday. If I can't go in the morning, then I go out in the afternoon. I can usually help about 30 people quit the Party each day. If I miss a day, then the next day I keep talking to people until I help 60 people quit.

I had to attend an experience sharing conference one morning, so I went out that afternoon. Another time, I participated in a local event which started at 9:00 a.m. So I went out earlier and was able to complete my goal.

I feel like going out to clarify the facts is my responsibility, and I feel uncomfortable if I don't go.

Focusing on Saving People

I try to keep my thoughts as pure and clean as possible. I don't watch TV and don't even chat with my children about everyday people's things. I get up at 3:50 a.m. to do the exercises, and send forth righteous thoughts (SFRT) at 6:00 a.m. I then eat breakfast, study one lecture of Zhuan Falun and then read other lectures. At 10:00 a.m. I go out to talk to people, and I'm usually home by 3:00 p.m. I then study one or two lectures in Zhuan Falun before dinner. Afterwards, I study other lectures and listen to Minghui Radio.

I also help with other projects, such as going out to hand out flyers and DVDs, putting up stickers, helping fellow practitioners to put books together, and visiting practitioners who are experiencing tribulations.

My mind is focused on saving people and nothing else. I find that my ability to clarify the facts is much stronger when my mind remains pure and clear.

Master said,

“For example, if a bottle filled with dirty things is sealed tightly and thrown into water, it will sink all the way to the bottom. You pour out some of its dirty contents. The more you empty the bottle, the higher it will float in the water. If it is emptied entirely, it will float on the surface completely.” (Zhuan Falun)

Master also told us,

“A person is like a container, and he is whatever he contains.” (“Melt Into the Fa,” from Essentials for Further Advancement)

My understanding is that we should not expose ourselves to negative things. If our thoughts can melt into the Fa, then the results of our clarifying the facts will be good.

One morning, I sat on a bench at a plaza and waited. People soon sat down on both sides of me. I first talked to the person on my left and helped him quit the Party. I then talked to the person to my right and he quit. When they left, two new people sat down next to me. I continued sitting on the bench and talking to people. Within an hour, I helped 20 people quit the Party. I realized that Master had sent these people to me.

When our intention is pure, clarifying the facts goes smoothly. One day, when I helped 29 people quit, I looked at the list and noticed that they were all members of the Communist Youth League or the Young Pioneers. I said to myself, “There weren't any CCP members. It would be nice if I could help a Party member quit the CCP.”

When I got on the bus one day a man sat next to me. We began talking, and he said he was 75 years old. I asked if he was a CCP member, and he said he had been a member for many years. So I helped him quit too. It was as if everything went according to my wish.

Master told us,

“If humans want to accomplish something or do something, they need to use their hands and feet—they need to use physical labor to get it done. But Buddhas don’t. Buddhas only need to think—the thought alone is enough” (“Teaching the Fa in San Francisco,” from Lectures in the United States)

When I read this, I realized that Master was hinting that we had this capability. As long as our minds are on the Fa, we are capable of doing things effectively.

When I'm focused on saving people, I have no negative thoughts. For example, I don't think, “If I talk to him but he doesn't quit, then what? What if he curses at me? What if he reports me?” I only focus on saving people.

Once, when a practitioner was trying to talk to a shop owner, the owner chased him out. The practitioner asked me to approach him. After we talked, the shop owner readily quit the CCP. Master said,

“I often say that if all a person wants is the well-being of others and if this is without the slightest personal motivation or personal understanding, what he says will move the listener to tears.” (“Clearheadedness,” from Essentials for Further Advancement)

When we clarify the facts, we must be compassionate. We also need to understand the other person and focus on the main issue. This way we can help them quit the CCP within a short amount of time. It is getting easier, and now more people are willing to listen. Every day I can help 35 to 50 people quit. I have even convinced up to 152 people in a single day.

I was once hit by a motorcycle while I was walking on the street. My body flew through the air, but I landed very lightly on the ground as if nothing had happened. The motorcyclist was terrified and repeatedly asked I wanted to go to the hospital.

I said, “I'm fine. I'm a Falun Gong practitioner. You can leave.” He wouldn't leave, so I helped him quit the CCP.

Using Our Wisdom

Master said,

“Validate the Fa with rationality, clarify the truth with wisdom, spread the Fa and save people with mercy—this is establishing the mighty virtue of an Enlightened Being.” (“Rationality,” from Essentials for Further Advancement II)

We should first greet people before clarifying the facts. For example, when I want to help someone, I warmly greet him, ask how he is doing, and inquire about his family. I then ask about his work, and we talk about how difficult it is to make a living these days. I then talk about how corrupt and deviated society has become and why it is this way. If he agrees, I tell him that millions of Chinese are distancing themselves by quitting the CCP.

When I clarify the facts in hospitals, I say, “Nowadays it is so hard for common people to see doctors! The doctors only spend a couple of minutes with you, but you have to wait for hours. The medical expenses are very high. You have to earn so much to be able to come here! But look at those government officials. The hospitals send doctors to their homes and give them the best medicine. Do regular people get such treatment? No way. There is one way to keep safe without spending any money, and that is to quit the CCP.”

Encouraging New Practitioners

Sometimes other practitioners ask to come with me when I talk to people about quitting the Party. I am very happy accommodate them because I think that the more other practitioners clarify the facts the better, as more people can be saved.

At first, they just watch and listen. They send forth righteous thoughts and often help write down names. Some are afraid at first, but I encourage them. I tell them, “You don't need to say anything. You can just listen.” Usually they become more courageous after a while, and now many can clarify the facts on their own.

One day, when I brought along a younger practitioner to clarify the facts, he noticed that a plainclothes police officer was following us. Since I was talking to someone, the practitioner walked to the other side of the road and watched me. He saw the plainclothes officer walk up to me, but he could not grab my arm. The officer walked back and forth three times, but he couldn't touch me. So he gave up and left. I realized that Master was protecting me because I had no fear; I felt compassionate and righteous.

We Should Try To Save Everyone

Master said,

“If a cultivator can let go of the thought of life and death under any circumstance, evil is sure to be afraid of him. If every student is able to do this, evil will of itself no longer exist. All of you are already aware of the principle of mutual-generation and mutual-inhibition. If you are not afraid, the factor that would make you afraid will cease to exist. This is not to be self-imposed, but is achieved by truly and calmly letting go of it.” (“Eliminate Your Last Attachment(s),” from Essentials for Further Advancement II)

I don’t have fear, and I talk to whomever I meet.

Here are some additional experiences I've had talking to people:

I happened to be in front of a police station and saw three police officers. Two were reporting to the third one, so I guessed that the third one must be their leader. When they finished talking, I went to the leader and helped him quit the CCP. He told me to be careful, and that he happened to be in charge of Falun Gong issues.

When I was clarifying the facts to a lady at a flea market, some police officers suddenly rushed in. The lady was frightened and immediately stepped away. I was not afraid and began explaining the facts about the persecution to an officer. He agreed to quit the CCP. I then walked out and saw that several police officers had circled the entire market, as if they were looking for someone. I walked right past them.

One day when I was clarifying the facts, the wind blew my hat off. I went to pick it up, but the wind blew it once again and it landed in the middle of four people, an elderly couple and a young couple. I realized that Master wanted me to talk to them. So I helped all four of them quit the CCP.

Cooperating with Fellow Practitioners

Besides clarifying the facts, I also help other practitioners with whatever they need. A practitioner once gave me quite a lot of materials. He said that he didn't have time to take care of them, so I took them without saying a word and handed them out until it was almost totally dark outside. Another time, I was given a bag of stickers and was told that the practitioner who usually posted them had not come. So I posted them all on my way home.

I think that as practitioners, we must fulfill our responsibilities and unconditionally cooperate with fellow practitioners.

Master said,

“The next person's things are your things, and your things are his things.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference,” from Teaching the Fa at the Conference II)

Thank you Master! Thank you Fellow practitioners!
