(Minghui.org) Four Falun Gong practitioners from Huian County, Hebei Province were arrested in Wulanchabu City, Inner Mongolia on March 22, 2017. They were illegally detained at the Jining Detention Center for 15 days.

The four, Ms. Wang Shufang, Ms. Li Shufang, Ms. Li Xiulin, and Ms. Dong Zhimei are in their fifties and sixties. They talked to people about Falun Gong while waiting for a bus in Wulanchabu City, Inner Mongolia. A taxi driver reported them, and they were arrested by officers from the Jining Police Department.

At the police department, the police searched their bags, and seized the book Zhuan Falun, a hand-copied book of poetry titled Hong Yin, cell phones, and memory sticks with Falun Gong information stored on them.

The four practitioners were taken to the basement, tortured on a tiger bench, and interrogated separately.

They were taken to the detention center the next morning. The guards demanded that they put on prison uniforms, but they refused.

Ms. Wang Shufang was placed on the tiger bench and not allowed to use the restroom. She shouted “Falun Dafa is good,” so the guards beat her and kept her on the tiger bench overnight.

Ms. Li Xiulin protested, saying, “Police must not beat people. It is against the law,” so they beat her too.

The four practitioners went on a hunger strike to protest the mistreatment.

The domestic security captain from the police department came three times to interrogate them. But they refused to answer his questions. Rather, they calmly told him the facts about Falun Gong and urged him to not persecute good people.

They were released 15 days later and told that they would be monitored for the next six months.
